I assure you, I'm not having a cow. I'm just trying to be forceful. If that's coming across wrong, I'm sorry. I just don't see how they're significantly anymore vague than anyone else's, though, so I'm confused as to how to convey that I'm not scum when people are ganging up on me over what seems to me (still a novice player) to be nothing.

I knew I would probably get chastised for not answering some of the questions, just like I do in every other game. For the questions I didn't answer, I don't feel that answering those questions provide any relevant information for later in the game like some people believe they do. There are too many things that can happen in the course of the game that completely changes how someone plays, making those questions kind of irrelevant in the bigger picture.

Looking at each question specifically, Question 3 is just asking for someone to look back and see if that's been their style in past games, and if it's not, the person who answered the question is just going to get flak for it. The question is pretty redundant, since you shouldn't have to explicitly state your play style for other people to be able to pick up flaws in it.

Question 4 isn't so much game theory as much as it is that I just don't have a preference for alignment. Take that any way you will.

Question 5 is probably the one I have the biggest problem with, and you've all already seen what can happen with Question 5. If you go out on a limb and say that somebody who posted above you is Mafia -- ESPACIALLY when it's probably their first or second post of the game -- you're already giving them a hard time, and it will end up being a source of conflict throughout the game, just because of one petty little post. Along with that, it's way too early to glean alignments just from someone's questions, which is something I stated in the last game I played here.

Other than maybe Question 4, which you can take as an answer or not in this post, I still won't answer the other questions. There's just not enough consistency in Mafia as a whole for me to even try answering Q3, and not enough information in this game so far for me to answer Q5.

I hesitated answering question four because I think it's a trap to try and make you say that you're Mafia. If you'd prefer to be Town, it kinda implies you're not Town. The wording is messed up.

I'm not doing it as a joke, I'm pushing to see her reaction and others' reactions. Anything you do in this game can be valuable. For instance if I did read Nightmares as town and tried pushing for her lynch, seeing who else jumped on that opportunity (mafia trying for an easy town lynch) would then enter my suspicions.

i reread this a couple times, and i don't really know how to articulate in a simple way why i find this so scummy.

maybe the best way i can put it is, your sentence shows lack of intent.

you see, it's like this:

town has motivation to press on people, the intention either to get someone lynched or to push on someone for a reaction test

but mafia do not have this intention. it's a subconscious thing. what purpose does saying something like you said serve? you're basically saying "lets give the guy a chance to respond before we suspect him" you're defending him before he even spoke. you should want him to feel suspected so that he'd form a proper response to it.

the worst case scenario being that you suspect him, he reacts in a towny way, then you change your mind. best case, he's scum and reacts in a scummy way after being pressed. there's no real harm for town in suspecting someone, and actually it's really key for the game.

basically i'm saying your sentence was empty, it had no town-intent and i think you're mafia trying to defend someone thats town to look towny.

Dolby had an 18 player game with an SK and a Lover, so have at least 1 third party is very likely IMO

I have no thoughts on anyone as of yet. I'm really just guessing at this point. If I really thought someone was Mafia, I'd have voted by now.

I thought Toad starting off the conversation was a good way to blend in with everybody else (though it was really just an excuse to answer the question I was given), and as for Nightmares, I remain suspicious.
