In my last save, I searched forever and ever for Tutu to no avail.

In this new save where I said I'm just going to play and have fun, guess who shows up randomly on my third visited mystery island?

It's like this game is a troll in disguise.

i lost stitches when i reset my island, then the second i started looking for him i found him on what was coincidentally my very first tarantula island! so yes, this game is very funny sometimes XD

Yep, definitely funny alright.

After I got Tutu, I never went back on a tour island because I wanted to start saving up Nook Miles for other things, so as a result, the game gave me random villagers. And who did the game give me for randoms? Biskit and Fauna, two villagers I happen to find EXTREMELY adorable.

I was not expecting that at all.

Today I accidentally got a random move-in villagers (thought I TTed properly to keep them out... guess not) and I got Ankha- who I dislike, but I've seen so many people complaining about how they've spent hundreds of NMTs looking SPECIFICALLY for her :p

I also spent a ton of time looking for Judy or Raymond. Just when I decide, "You know, I want Raymond right now, and Judy later" who should I find but... Judy. Fortunately I was able to buy Raymond off someone on here right after!

Also, this is semi-related, but I was so careful to only gift Raymond clothing he'd look cute in, including that cute, plaid, Scottish-type hat (forget what it's called, but I feel like I see people wearing them with kilts, not the Gulliver one but an orderable on). But lately he's taken to wearing that... with a hot pink jacket. I did not think that through, and of course he'd call my bluff.

Happened to me today. Searching and searching for a spider crab, nothing but snow crabs and red king crabs spawning. After two hours finally got a spider crab and donated it asap.

Then I decide I want a snow crab to decorate Plucky's front yard with, which is next to the beach, because when you place the snow crab down it's inside a cute orange container filled with water, and mind you I decided this after I already sold all the excess snow crabs and red king crabs.

So back into the ocean I go and what do I keep finding? Spider crabs...yup, when I don't want them/not actively searching for them. Where were these guys two hours ago?

Another two hours later and yes, snow crab. Oh broken, unfair RNG... Wouldn't be Animal Crossing without you.

bruhh i have been searching everywhere today for that shamrock wand diy on my main switch, then i eventually gave up and went on my second island to do some terraforming and i notice a balloon
so i shot down and being the little button-masher i am, i open the present really quick and it was the shamrock wand, i then learned it instead of sending it to my main switch 😅

i remember time traveling so much just looking for the last few orderable furniture items and wallpaper just to finish up my whole orderable catalog. it went on for weeks and i STILL couldn’t find any of the ones i needed. ending up just chilling and taking a break, went on one day just to chat with my villagers and hang out with them, i walk in nooks and like 5 items i didn’t have yet were there.. good thing i walked in there just in case, since i was about to save and quit and miss all of those. only a few more to go!

Totally agree - there was a time when I was trying to hunt for scorpions to donate to museum. I tried doing so for about 2 month straight with no luck, despite the fact I intentionally play at night every day. I basically gave up one day and just said screw it, I will come across it when I do. Guess what, the next time I decided to play at night, voila. Out of no where it appeared, fortunately I was able to finally catch it. It’s the strangest feeling. I sometimes feel like this game is trying to teach us all a life lesson - That sometimes you just can’t get what you want, no matter how hard you try. But if it’s meant to be, it will happen at the time when you least expect it. I guess such is life.

This has happened to me twice so far, so frustrating! but i still buy both copies haha, best to have two copies of things incase you want to gift or resell in the future I find.

This legit happened to me with Raymond. I thought he was cute but decided I wasn’t going to stress about finding any specific villagers or pay thousands of NMT for them. Then on my 2nd NMT Raymond shows up.

On my second switch I was using the campsite method to find raymond. After a couple days of trying, (and somehow finding sherb who I moved to my main island) I gave up deciding I wanted kidd more.

The next time I went on the game on island 2 (about 2 weeks later) to trade with myself, guess who was there...

I have this type of luck as well.

For example, let's say there is a type of fish I am looking to catch. -- if I am really looking hard for it, it doesn't even show up most of the time (unless the fish is painfully common like a horse mackerel, black bass, or sea bass). But if it's a fish that I have already caught or donated, it has no problem spawning (this also applies to rare fish).

Back at the beginning of March, I was trying to catch a cherry salmon, char, and a golden trout. Well, guess what happened? I didn't have any luck getting any of those fish -- but I caught TWO stringfish in a short amount of time. The cherry salmon only sells for a mere 1,000 bells, while the stringfish sells for a whopping 15,000 bells.

I had already caught and donated a stringfish back in February, so I had no reason to care about catching one other than its value.

This happened to me early last year. I really wanted Eunice so I spent so many NMT’s looking for her. To no avail for weeks. So I went to an Island to get some wood from all the trees, shake some fruit etc etc, and here she is just chilling at the campfire. It also happens a lot with DIYS. I will trade for one after searching for it for months and the next day Biskit will be crafting it in his house. Typical luck!

I had lots of tickets from a friend; finally made a villager leave.. was so ready to search and have fun.. within 10 tickets I had both Dom and Raymond, which is pretty insane. But I wanted either Francine or Bonbon so I kept going, also to have fun. Ticket 17. Bonbon. So now all my tickets are rotting in storage for now. I know I should be happy but it took me days to move someone out (and timetravelling ca 6 months worth) and I feel like I didnt get to have fun with it. X_x

This happens all of the time but I wasn't on any trade forums during that time so i didnt really lose much but lost days on it. Now that i'm trading i'll probably run into that a few times, though I currently have everything I could possibly need and want. Might just be a seller for a while.
