I'm still toying with the idea of putting my house on the beach though I heard that some reviewers did that and ended up moving it later so I'm really not sure what to do.
I'd kind of like to think of my house as a more permanent structure so once it's built, I'd prefer not to move it.
Is anyone else still considering a beach house?

The only thing I can think of against putting it on the beach is if it becomes a bit of an obstacle. It also limits what you can put around it. I'm hoping to put mine in one of the top island corners if the private/hidden beach is there.

I want to put mine on a cliff (second level), so either way my initial location isn't going to be permanent...

I think putting a tent on the beach is super cute, but maybe once it turns into a house it'll look a bit out of place? But that's just my opinion

I want to attempt to put a resident home on the secret north beach possibly once island designer is unlocked. I still haven’t seen any villager homes on the beach. I wonder if it’s possible?

I'm going to be putting my tent on the beach! I want to experience waking up right at the water since we couldn't do that before! I will move it after I unlock terraforming though because I have plans to have my house surrounded by cliffs and waterfalls eventually.

I feel by preferring not to move it, you're making the decision more stressful than it needs to be. Don't forget we'll have terraforming later in the game, and you'll also be locked out of half the island at the start, so you may not even have access to the best spot.

Me personally, I always wanted my house next to the waterfall when playing New Leaf. I think because we will be locked out of half the island at the start, and later unlock terraforming, I'll place my house where ever, and then later build my dream spot.

No I think I'll prefer mine to be on land, there's just something more cosy about having it on grass for some reason. Beach house does sound very calming though.

I'm gonna keep mine on land bc I want to have a little area where all my villagers live and I want to be there with them :)

I'm planning to put my house near a river or somewhere not near the beach, I'm not a big fan living next to the beach (even though my house has been next to them in past games).

But I might put my secondary character on the beach. :)

A beach house sounds nice.

I plan on having a few secondary characters living on my island, and was going to have them living in a row like in New Leaf, but having one of them living on the beach would be cool. My only corcern would be it getting in the way when trying to fish or something, but it can be far enough back to not block paths. And you can always change it. This game's going to be awesome.

I'm a bit tempted to put my tent on the beach, but I really don't want my house on the beach. I might end up next to the river again!

I think I won't move on the beach, but I do plan to build villager houses all around the town so I'll probably place one or two on the beach as well!

Once I unlock the island designer app, I plan on moving my house to the end of the island near the secluded north beach, placing it on the 3rd cliff and creating an "infinity pool" that overlooks the beach.

You can put a house actually on the beach!? Omg I didn't realise that. Does that apply to villager houses too? I love this idea but I suppose you might also be a bit far away from things.

Probably not on the beach, but near the end of the island where the grass meets the beach.

I want a more practical placement. When I started my NL town (NL was my first AC game), my friend advised me to place my house close to Re-Tail, and I never regret that decision. So I think I'll probably build close to the store, but I'll see how it goes as I make progress in the game.
I don't have any massive terraforming plans, right now the plan is to go with whatever RNG gives me, and only tweak minor things that bug me, but who knows, maybe I'll suddenly get a good idea for a major renovation and will want to move my house accordingly. We'll see.

I’ll most likely build my house on the beach! It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I can’t pass up the opportunity! Plus it will give me more space to build my island up how I choose.

I might even build all of the villager homes on the beach and make it a little beach community. I think that would be super cute.
