I like the different coloured eyes but I'm not a big fan of his personality and don't see the whole hype, if I were to get him he is one of the villagers that I will automatically start setting up a listing on nookazon when he arrives, what are you guys thinking?

Cats are my favourite species in Animal Crossing (and in real life) bit Raymond isn’t my cup of tea. Most smugs are intolerable for me and cat wise I’d rather have Kiki or Bob on my island. I did love his little fangs, though. I couldn’t resist giving him a vampire costume. Ultimately I let him go, actually I offered him for free on here but no one was interested. I suppose the hype is over.

Smugs are pretty annoying, but some of them just don't deserve to be smugs, for example cephalobot is really nice and I wouldn't say he deserves smug but he is so

Smugs are the best. Raymond is great and has become a top-tier/potentially favorite villager for me. Was he overrated? Yes. Most popular things are. The reaction of certain fans didn’t stop me from enjoying him.
He doesn’t fit on my island anymore. I’m going to miss him when he leaves, the business getup always made it feel like he was up to something and fit that cute ego smugs have. The fangs were cute. The eyes are cool and yes he has a bit of Bowie vibe and Bowie’s aesthetic was awesome.

I like his design and the fact he has two tone eyes (although he's not the first villager to have that ) but he's not for me. There's nothing wrong with him, he's cute and all, I just don't understand the hype over him and I never will. I still don't get the whole selling his flea for how many NMT and Bells? .... Yeah that's the dark part of the community I don't want to be associated with lol.
The only smug I'll keep forever is Julian just for sentimental reasons, one being he moved into my ACNL town on his own and he lives surrounded by a perfect apple orchard. Still yet to get him in New Horizons however.

I scanned Raymond's amiibo a few months back as I had read about his popularity, and wanted to see what the fuss was about. I myself couldn't see it. He's ok, but he's nothing special in my book. He stayed for a few weeks then I scanned someone else in. The most memorable thing about him was when he had fleas.
I had Raymond last year, just to know firsthand what the fuss about him is all about. Took me hours and hundreds of tickets to get him.
He's got a cool design. Too anime trope-ish for my taste though. Personality-wise, I think Cranky is far more fitting than Smug for him. I know many people love him, but I just found him to be average. I love cats, but I like Keaton and Hans more than him.

I met him on a mystery island, and he was actually very cute. I thought about inviting him, just because he was cuter than I thought he would be, but I didn't (because I already had another villager in mind). I like his little office house too. It's quite cute.

The cat villagers are one of my favorite species in AC, but after all the fuss with him, it kinda ruined me at first, but now I’m okay with him a couple years later. Marshal also had that same effect too when New Leaf came out.
I like Raymond but he definitely wasn't a dreamy of mine. Cats are one of the best species in the game, and he has quite a unique look. Plus being smug is a BIG bonus imo. If it was possible to have 20 villagers, he'd possibly make the cut. as a permanent villager. There are other smugs I much prefer.
