After diligently going day by day since launch, I finally time traveled last night. (As I knew I eventually would, lol).

I did the campsite cycling to get a smug as I was lacking one. (Yay, Kidd! I haven’t seen him since City Folk when he decided to just move without warning. Remember that, guys?)

Anyways I was trying to figure this one by googling but am still not sure. I am now back to “real time” and plan to go day by day. Until I get bored again, lol.

Since I went forward in time, does mean that all those seasonal messages that Isabelle has are now gone? I think I picked up on the DIYs but am not sure. Thx for any responses

Also would appreciate any heads up on other weird consequences.

What do you mean by seasonal messages? You mean the heads up about different seasonal/holiday DIYs? If so, yes- she should only give those once. If you didn't get them, you will, but I'm guessing you did because I'm pretty sure they take top priority over all other announcements (even meteor showers)

And, honestly, the only real consequence to going backwards is any turnips you might have would spoil. And, if you ordered anything from the catalog or sent any letters, it's a good idea to go forward one day (to get the items/replies) before going back- otherwise it's kind of iffy if you'll get them or not. But, otherwise, there really isn't any consequence! Also, one the first day you go back, you won't get a morning announcement at all- that's normal. They'll start again the next day!

the only two consequences i know of are having turnips rot (if you go backwards, forwards is fine) and your town being "overrun" by weeds but the latter has never been a problem for me the few times i TT'ed to make bushes grow. either you have to go really far for that to become an issue or it's dependent on something else like how many pre-existing weeds the town already has.

The weeds shouldn't be an issue if you go backwards, though- just forwards!

^ yup it's mainly turnips going bad (if you time travel past a Sunday, or time travel backwards at all) and weeds/flowers getting out of control (if you time travel weeks or months). And when you time travel backwards you won't get an announcement when you start the game because the game treats it as the same day. So you also won't get any items you ordered, won't get to give another gift to your villager, won't find any new fossils, etc until you progress to the next day. Hope this makes sense!

Yep, that's the longer explanation! But I've also had times where travelling forward a day still doesn't get me items I've ordered and stuff (IIRC) so it's just best to go forward a day first if waiting on something, IMO.
