Hi All!
I have read the FAQ, but I am unclear about how exactly, while time traveling, to get an amiibo card character to move in and a plot to stay empty for the 3 days needed to convince the villager to stay. Specifically, my daughter has finally convinced Quillson to leave and his plot is now empty. So now the race is on to get a villager replacement. She tried to find someone via island hopping but didn't see anyone. So, we have ordered an amiibo card. She will time travel back to the beginning of the day until Fauna arrives, so that the game won't move in a random villager, but what happens when Fauna gets uploaded to the campsite? Will the game see the empty plot and fill it, or will it see a villager in the campsite and leave Quillson's former plot empty for the needed 3 days?

If she has to keep time traveling back to the beginning of the same day, will Fauna remember the gifts and games or whatever and finally stay after 3 real time days?

Thanks!!

I think that you will have to go through three days. She'll most likily remember them all on the same day unfortunately

But the good news is that Fauna can replace the auto move in. All you need is to go through the days, and once the auto replacement has moved in, once Fauna asks if anyone wants to leave, you can select that animal

Id recommend just letting the auto move in come in, and then go through the days. because in order to kick out the auto move you need to wait for them to be fully moved in

If you start the day the amiibo arrives, then go through the first day, second, skip the third because that will be when the auto move in is just arriving, then do the third time the day after.

Will the fact that she doesn't have 10 villagers yet make a difference? I'm afraid that will be the tough part. From what I've read, if you already have 10 villagers, then the amiibo will kick someone out, but if you don't have all 10 yet, then what? How do you make the timing work then? Will we have to let a random villager move in and then let Fauna be the 10th? My daughter was hoping to not have to go this route if possible because she is only wanting 9 villagers still at this point. But I'm not sure if there is a way around this timing issue. What do you think?

Thanks!

Okay, so change in plans. She now knows who she wants for her 10th villager so is okay with letting the plots fill up. She has her heart set on Fauna and Dobie. As mentioned, we already bought the Fauna amiibo. If the game gods don't gift her with Dobie for her 9th or 10th villager, then we will get his amiibo or trade for him if that's possible. I still have to figure out how that works. Yet another thing on my to do list...
:)
