Because it ruins your island, assuming someone watches to keep tabs on rules and who wins then not everyone gets to play, it takes a lot of set up, and gets destroyed after 1 time playing it.

Its cute, but a lot to ask of a person for a casual gaming session

Flora has mentioned it, but the only game I've played with any villagers is the treasure hunt.

Well that is cool but again this doesn't really help much. There needs to be modes that actually have more put into them and to have fun with your friends.

Treasure hunt is the only thing they will do. You might be thinking of NL because that's where you could do hide and seek. It's a cute idea, but not everyone is going to want to terraform their entire island for a mini-game. And then when your friends are tired of the set-up, you got to redo the whole thing or they won't want to do it again.

So real mini-games would be welcomed. Again, this is creative, but it's not our job to do their job.

Honestly, all I've ever wanted to do with friends is Hide and Go Seek. I don't know why but in NH, I would run from my friends get freak out and when they popped out of no where and found me.

I don't know, I'm just one of those people that loves the simple games like tag.

It would be cool of them to add some cute and quick mini games like Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life has, it had something like a territory game if I remember right.

In this case they could make you play like board games and stuff with your other villagers like the territory game or maybe chess, doesn’t have to be complicated and I’m sure they can be creative with it, can just be something nice to do with them to pass time, would also be cool if we could play with other people when visiting. It would give a reason to hangout with people more, I think.

I think so but I'm not certain.

the timer is actually in the game and can keep track of how many bugs/fish you + your friends catch!

What I used to do with friends is just play hide and seek or set up a treasure hunt myself It's not quite like a pre-set minigame but it can be fun. For hide and seek just wait at the beach and let them hide. If y'all are doing a voice call simultaneously it's a lot of fun!

For the treasure hunt just bury something somewhere on the island (maybe a wishlist item?) and let them go for a stroll to find it. One could set up some hurdles or obstacles as well and take them down again later.

It does get boring at some point though so I can't deny that in-game minigames would be really neat.

I loved having just a separate, small limited space to go to to get away from my town and to get a few unique items. I loved playing the games as well. I really would love for NH to have a smaller island to visit with a shop or two with unique items and games, but I think it will be quite some time before that even happens.

That's a cute game, but mini-games created by the developers will always be better. Better functionality, mini-game rules integrated into the game so players don't have to worry about that, and fun prizes aside from items we can already trade one another.
