I love completing lists, and animal crossing is a heaven full of lists. But I'm a bit unsure of exactly how far I want to take cataloging. As of right now, I'm using the catalog that a bunch of kind people are working on in order to check things off, and I'm wondering if collecting all of the variations counts for completion?

If it counts as separate items, then I'll have to do it, but if it doesn't count, I might just give up at that, at least for now, since with some items (guitars, books, etc.) having such small variation, it's difficult to discern and keep track of.

So, how about y'all? Do any of you know if the variations actually count for anything? Are you trying to collect everything or just get at least one?

I'm not a cataloger by any means; I just get the variations of items that I prefer. I think people who are trying to get all variations of items that have them deserve major props!

i’m trying to get every orderable item but i only will have multiple variations if there ones that i actually want lol

Speaking of the catalogue, if the Monster Hunter amiibo's can't be used (Felyne), is POOGIE gone?

No more MH items? O_O :( :(

Personally, I don't get the point of having a full catalog unless you want to have anything just to have something interesting to trade for another thing.

I only buy things I like, and, with limited inventory, I see no point in hoarding items I don't want/would never use. It also would make me artificially pad the length of the game (but wouldn't make me play more once I feel like I've had enough).
