Hello there, folks! ~ :D
So first things first: I am a HUGE fan of Tom Nook and the story behind his character. ^^
He is sadly misunderstood by most and a lot of people seem to not actually pay attention to his personality - this is absolutely not meant to be taken as an offense, but there are just so many people out there, who have brandished him as the devil or see him as some kind of an evil capitalist or mafia loan shark etc. and it just bugs me.
(I am not trying to tell you he is a saint btw, he has his flaws like everybody does and yes, yes he LOVES muneh! xD)
And don't get me wrong, it's funny to think of him that way but what makes him most interesting to me, is that he is in fact quite the opposite of what people believe about him and you can find out for yourself if you take the time to piece his dialogue and the things other villagers say about him together like a puzzle. <3
AAND this leads me to my point:
I know that a lot of you won't be willing to take the time to do that, so I wanted to share my findings with you all! ~

All of the dialogue is available in English and German and all of it is CANON!
(So no fanfiction dialogue or headcanon stuff)

If you see any errors - regarding the content or the spelling, etc. - please tell me! :)
And btw: If you notice any pieces of dialogue that you have seen translated differently in the AC/HHD games: I translated some lines myself.

And also please tell me if you find any more dialogue puzzle pieces about Tom Nook, I would LOVE to add them.
I will also add the dialogue found in "Animal Crossing New Horizons" next year!

First of all, welcome! :)

I quite like Tom Nook. I think he's a great character with a big heart and some humorous character flaws that make him seem much more real. I also love the animal he's based on in Japan, the tanuki. I like Isabelle, but I miss the days when Tom Nook was the face of Animal Crossing.
 
Welcome to the forums! I love Tom Nook (& the Nooklings) and have been wanting to learn more about him. Thank you for putting all of this information together in one place. It's super helpful! I can't wait for NH and to see what our favorite NPCs are up to. Thank you again!

I was just trying to read about Tom but some of the words are cut off in some of the blocks. I don't know if this is just my laptop or if it's like that for others.

I have granted all of you editing rights, because you were completely right and I totally forgot about that.
Some of those dialogue pieces are really long and you need to click into the text fields to read the text in its entirety. :)
I would still be glad if you could check with me first before you add new dialogue and please do not delete anything. ^^

Thank you for making it so we can see all of the information! You worked hard gathering and organizing everything so it would be sad if it couldn't all be accessed. :) (I'm 99% sure I won't add or change anything. You've done a great job collecting all of this information. I'm happy just learning more about Tom Nook.)

It really took a LOT of time and research to compile this, but it was so much fun! ^0^
It felt like some kind of an epic scavenger hunt! ~ :D
But please don't do this at home kids, you will lose like 60 hours and time is MONEY! :p

It's incredible! NL is the only AC game I've played so being able to see all the info from the other games is awesome! I've only read about half so far (real life getting in the way) but I've already learned so much. Thank you again!
 
Wow, I have never taken much notice of Nooks dialogue before! He is so sweet, I never knew he had much of a back story. Thank you for posting this, it was very nice to read and welcome to forums (a little late welcome I know) I'll look forward to seeing new character dialogues in NH, another aspect to get excited about!
 
In my opinion, Tom Nook is that one character who doesn't deserve all the hate he gets. It's like people only see him as that one greedy guy who wants all your money and nothing else, when in reality, he is actually quite a nice guy with a good humor, not to mention that he gives you infinite time to pay your house debts back when you think about it. Reading all his dialogues is besides interesting and here and there a laugh worth. Thanks a lot for making this thread!

As I had announced last year, I've played Animal Crossing New Horizons by now and updated my Tom Nook Mastersheet accordingly - please check out my short "patch notes" here for all the changes! :D

Patch Notes:
- updated the link to the sheet in my original posting here.
- added many dialogue lines from New Leaf, especially Tom Nook dialogue with Lyle and at the Roost.
- added entire New Horizons dialogue.
- added the dialogue lines from Nook Tails - the official Animal Crossing comic.
- fixed some minor mistakes and restructured the sheet a bit to make it easier to navigate.

On top of that, I'm currently working on turning this Google sheet into A WEBSITE to make it even more accessible, so stay tuned, hm? ~

I don't get people who do not like Tom Nook, he is a sweet person once you see all the facts and his backround. Very sweet character and even donates lots of his profits to charity! How nice! He is mistaken
 
Yooo this is so cool omg!! I love this!! I’ve seen on a few websites that Celeste has a crush on Tom Nook, but I’ve never actually seen the dialogue for it before. So I’m not sure if it’s fake or not?? I also think Tom Nook is such a cool character!
 
Heya folks! :)

Just here to share a quick update for the website,
I've added the dialogue from Happy Home Designer ("About Tom Nook" -> "Your work") and the New Year's Countdown event dialogue lines from New Horizons! 🦝

As for the dialogue from Celeste:
If this is actually in-Game, it must be one of the older titles, I've pretty much seen the New Horizons, New Leaf, and Happy Home Designer dialogue in its entirety, so if Celeste says this, she must say it in City Folk or Wild World. :)
 
Hello, hello! And yet another update:
The website now contains MOST of the dialogue from Tom Nook [Tab: "About Tom Nook" -> "Your work" and "Business And Donations"] and about Tom Nook [Tab: "Others About Tom Nook"] in 'Wild World', 'City Folk' and 'amiibo Festival'! ~ Enjoy! 🌟

And about Celeste:
I looked it up in Wild World, New Leaf, and City Folk, but found no proof of this unfortunately.
