Definitely grab a travel case and put a screen protector on it to prevent scratches from the tv stand.

I don't think you should wait, I think you should get a regular switch. The switch lite's limitations are way too much for me personally. I'll being playing animal crossing mostly on my TV, and even if that's not what you plan to do most of the time, I'm sure it would be a wonderful experience, if only just once or twice!

The quality of Switch/Switch Lite skins has really evolved if you’d rather play Animal Crossing sooner. You may want to take a peek around Etsy to see if there’s a cute skin you like and then go for the nice blue Switch Lite system.

Facing a similar dilemma. I already have a Switch but was considering downsizing to the Switch Lite because I use the console exclusively as a handheld anyway. I love the coral one but it doesn't release in Europe until April 21st. It's annoying that the game doesn't save to the cartridge.
