touch screen?

hiii everyone!
so, i was curious about something. do you guys think that ac:nh will have touch screen controls?
most switch games don't use the touch screen. from what we have seen in trailers and gameplay, they haven't used touch screen either. (maybe to show where they are moving things if it's just screen footage?)
i really hope we can use touch screen, at least for making designs. however, even with designs, i haven't seen anyone use touch screen.
do you guys know anything?

We don’t have any official confirmation, but I would like to say it’s very possible. Especially when you consider how AC:NH may have initially been planned for the Wii U (where the touch screen was integral to the experience).

It'd be nice, but I haven't seen anything about it yet. I would have expected it'd be used to some extent in the Japanese spots with the girls cheering on their friend (and making the transparent custom designs for her), but without a stylus, I suppose the Joy-cons are just easier for that.

I'm... hoping? There'll be some touchscreen stuff? But honestly I haven't seen any evidence that points to it being likely.

Since no one has really mentioned touch-screen capabilities... I’m wondering if it’s something that Nintendo is trying to save for when we get the game. Although I’m not sure what kind of super-cool functionality it could have, so we’ll see!

Yes! I edited my org. post after realizing that it’s most likely just a normal feature and we use it for designing/pockets/movement x)

I will be absolutely shocked if they don't give us touch screen for that. I went back to watch the 2 minute Japanese ad that shows pattern making and they didn't even show her using a stylus on that! What the heck! Maybe they don't want to imply that its coming with a stylus when it isn't? I'm gonna go with that, if for nothing else than but to ease my mind. And so I don't have buyer's remorse for my stylus coming in the mail.

Possibly but I feel like that isn't a very good idea... you are probably better using one made for the switch (if they exist)

I hope and think we will. Patterns would be too annoying to make if we didn't (at least I think so) and it would give nintendo the chance to come out with styluses for the switch.

Nintendo is so weird with touch controls, there are indie games that are completely playable with the touch screen while there are Nintendo games that only allow you to use the touch screen to make typing a name easier. I think the same thing will be true for Animal Crossing, it's weird that the japanese commercial featuring designs didn't show touch screen comparability - it would have been a great way to show off the Switch Stylus and make it more desirable to purchase...
