I've been running a thread for making town tunes for New Leaf for a long time (check the link in my signature! ;) ), and I want to continue making town tunes for people in New Horizons, even if I don't get the game myself right away. This assumes that town tunes will work the same way in New Horizons as they did in previous Animal Crossing games. I haven't kept up with all the details and directs about New Horizons. Has there been any information about what town tunes will be like in that game? Maybe a quick clip or screenshot of someone making a town tune in New Horizons or something, if not just an outright statement that they'll be different or the same?

Honestly, I really hope that they'll update the town tune thing to include sharp and flat notes, because some songs are just impossible to make sound right without them. But if they keep it the same, that means that all of the town tunes that I made in my previous thread will all work in New Horizons as well, which would be convenient.

Either way, I'm planning on making a new town tune thread here in the New Horizons section soon, since the game is coming out soon, so I want to get as much information as I can before starting it.

We saw the Town Tune maker a while back, and it's practically still the same as always, or that is, what we know so far:

Hopefully when the full game releases we'll know more about the town tune maker (because getting more info out of a static image is kinda hard, and also because the video doesn't dwelve too much into it)

That is very nice of you! Yes the town tune mechanic seems to be staying the same. Old town tunes might still work. I was hoing to have a tune be at least 8-9 seconds. I get the 4 seconds but I wish for a tad more. We will see soon

It does, indeed, look exactly the same, functionally. If it had the ability to include sharp and flat notes, I would think that the person gathering the information would have shown that, since it would have been relatively big news. But we may be surprised when the game comes out. For now, I'll just prepare for the town tunes to be the same as they always have since the first game. Thank you for responding with the link to the picture!

this is very nice of you! i know basically nothing about making music lol so your thread will definitely be used by me aha

I hope it's still pretty similar because I want to have the exact same tune. My husband (boyfriend at the time!) made it for me in Wild World and I carried it over into subsequent games. To me it's become the animal crossing theme and the game wouldn't be the same without it!

Someone was saying for the demo versions of the game, which is what we saw, that things would be different in the actual version! So who knows? Hopefully flats are included in this game! I really hope so too, that's definitely something on my AC wish list too ☆

You've done an awesome job on that thread! It looks like it'll be the same, I wish it was twice as long at the least.

It seems that at least a few people have already somehow been able to play the game. Can anyone confirm if the town tunes still work the same in New Horizons as they did in previous games?

I'm still wondering about how the town tunes work, if anyone has access to the game yet and can answer my question, please. :)

I'll give 10 TBT to anyone who can tell me if the town tunes work the same in New Horizions as they did in previous Animal Crossing games.

Are they even called town tunes anymore? Are they island tunes? I don't have the game myself and may not for a while, so I can't check myself.

I'm still hoping to get this question answered. And I guess we can't send bells right now, but I absolutely will once the site updates and bells are able to be sent. If 10 isn't enough, please tell me how much this information is worth.

I didn't exactly pull out my DS and compare, but it's the same. Done through talking to Isabelle. No sharps or flats. I honestly searched Kingdom Hearts themes and used Xion's Theme from your thread without knowing it lol.
No worries on the bells.

Thank you very much!

And it does seem that they are now called "Island Tunes," so I'll update my town tune thread accordingly.
