Today, 2 small ensembles from my school, a total of 15 of us (plus my instructor), went to a nearby mall (about half an hour away) to perform some holiday music. Each group had a half hour to perform, and we had lunch in between the two performances.

Our teacher didn't want us to put a case out for donations, so my group didn't. Towards the end of the second group's gig, the bass player put his case out in front. In the duration of just two songs, people donated $62 (including a $50 bill)! Just goes to show peopel are in the holiday spirit.

Heh, I used to play at a local farmer's market during the summer, and although I never earned that much in one sitting (people aren't in the holiday spirit during the summer, apparently), I still managed to earn a lot of money with that.

Congrats on the gig though!

Yea I'm doing somthing with my Boy Scout troop tomorrow.

We're going to a retirement hope and singing and playing Christmas music.

You know where your teacher got the idea from? Mine at the middle school. Your band stole our idea, the choir at my school stole the idea, and the orchestra at my school stole our idea, and we're performing there later then everyone else who stole our idea.

So, yeah my 15 kid holiday ensemble is playing after school at a mall on Tuesday.

No...he had it planned before your pathetic little band did.

:p

Bands? Bah. All the cool cats have solo gigs. After all, it is the only way to show off technique and musicality the best.
