Do You Enjoy the Holidays?

I like the vibe and the energy of the holidays. It's nice to see all the decorations, watch Christmas movies, eat holiday foods and desserts, see family, exchange gifts, and such. Of course it was even more magical as a kid since Christmas was always the time when we'd get big gifts, like gaming consoles. It was fun to open up gifts and then play with our new toys or play new games if we got a console that year.

I very much enjoy the Holidays. Part of my enjoyment has been killed because of my retail job, but I love getting together with family for dinners and exchanging gifts with each other, as well as decorating the house, seeing the snow, and listening to holiday music. Like @Asarena said, it was much more magical as a kid, and I think as we get older we all miss that holiday magic. I still look forward to it every year though, and I love giving my friends and family gifts I know they'll love or get some good use out of.

It’s really funny that I love Christmas decorations and have a lot of it but I don’t decorate my home for the holiday. I like Christmas trees but I don’t have the space to set up a tree or to even store one. It’s just too much effort for someone who lives alone and isn’t always home for the holiday itself. I mean why bother decorating a tree in a nice manner is no one else is going see it?

I see what you mean but idk inside decorations to me are really cool, even if you're not really doing it to show off it's just fun at least for me, but yeah it also depends on the space you're working with a lot too.

Space has a lot to do with it. I don’t bother with outdoor lights because I don’t have any outlets outside and also because of safety concerns and then needing to take them down in January so that I don’t end up looking like I’m either crazy or lazy.

To be perfectly honest this time of year is probably the lowest for me. After losing several close loved ones the holidays don't have the same meaning anymore. Just put out a few little decorations and a small Christmas tree.
I also don't like the cold very much. All my outdoor plants succumbed to the frost recently and it bums me out. I want spring back. 🌷🦋

i don't hate it, but i'm also not crazy about it either; i guess the thought of the memories i might make with my family is the only thing that i find myself looking forward to.

I enjoy the holidays a lot. Christmas was always my favourite growing up, and it's stuck with me. Of course the stress makes me anxious, but I love it overall. I like going shopping, to church, to friends (though I always feel bad if I'm not the one cooking) and seeing the lights in the city.

Yeah I like the holidays, though Halloween is the best, I like thanksgiving and Christmas as well. There's definitely a lot of stress this time of year that I could do without though.

yes I loove the holidays!! even w/o the whole gift giving concept it's just a really cozy time of year, and telling/showing people you love how important they are to you : ) its wholesome <3

Normally I do, but this year I have been really not feeling up to it, due to my terrible living situation...
There's a lot of problems such as freezing in my own bedroom and I technically can't even celebrate it on the correct date due to money issues.
I haven't even tried listening to Christmas music because I don't feel excited or anything this year.

Even though I'm not feeling as festive as I usually do because some of my family have moved far away, I still try to surround myself in the Christmas ambience. I play Christmas music whenever I can, and the house is decorated inside and out. I have to keep trying, this will be my new normal now. It can't be miserable every year.

Edit: know what I take it back, I just absolutely hate the holidays lmao

Yes, overall I enjoy it, but there are waaay too many meetings with different people which makes the Holiday - New Year season quite exhausting for me.

Ya, Christmas is my favorite time of year, even though my family doesn't celebrate the holiday every year. Normally, I like listening to Christmas music to get into the festive vibes, though we don't always have get-togethers with relatives since we don't have any family traditions. The only aspects I don't like about them is how stores close early during the holidays, and not to mention the commute is annoying when traveling.
