I thought this was interesting. So I'm still in the tutorial phase of my island but after trading repeatedly for a long time with villagers in hopes to get extra of each pumpkin since I don't have them it turns out that the villagers
carrots and potatoes too. I now kinda wonder if enough time was spent on them if they would eventually give every crop. I already had wheat from Lief.
Turkey also seemed to have changed. What is asked for is a tad different now.
Also Incase anyone was wanting to trade alot with villagers
carp yellow perch crucian carp turban shell sea bass dab horse mackerel seaweed oyster mussel dungerous crab and that's all I can remember

Either way, I'm still working on getting the yellow pumpkin so I'm not done with turkey day yet lol.

Also if there are cooking recipes i may not be able to get them since I don't have cooking recipes unlocked yet since I'm in tutorial.

I tried the event just now and so far nothing really much has changed, although sometimes Franklin could ask for any of the new crops for the dishes he prepares I think it was the Gratin. Then when you are done getting all the special ingredients for every dish he gives you
4 Cooking Recipes for Clam Chowder, Pumpkin Pie, Gratin, and Fish meuniere so that way you can cook them yourself

Overall its pretty much the same from last year, but the only difference is that they changed around the ingredients you need for certain dishes. It was really disappointing that they didn't let you cook the dishes for Franklin if he was to ask for you to do it. It was such a missed potential. For new players they would love it, but for returning players like myself will only do it just to get the new stuff.

Yeah I finally got through it. From what Franklin said, it sounds like I should have the cooking recipes from him when I get cooking unlocked. Also
just carrots and potatoes beyond the pumpkins. I spent alot of time and I didn't see tomatoes, wheat, or sugar cane given. They did give flour for one recipe Franklin was requesting though. So I guess if your someone who is having a hard time finding carrots or potatoes on kapp'n isles it works out.

Franklin told me that the cooking recipes and crafting recipes were the same book and Nook gave him a copy a day early and that nook will sell it later so I assume yes.
I really don't understand why they didn't use different dishes from when they added in the new cooking mechanic and they just repeated the same ones from last year. Just like Halloween they really didn't change much with this event, I mean sure you get a new reward, but thats it, there is no new Turkey Day items or DIYS.

Does anyone know f you can get recipes without doing the event.
Definitely! Here's what he says when he gives the recipes:

I had no problem at all getting the ingredients, but if I had known the recipes could be bought tomorrow, I don't think I would have bothered doing the event at all. As for things repeating from last year, this is such a minor event and I'm fine with that, really. We don't even celebrate Thanksgiving where I live, anyway.

I mean its fine for the people who don't have time to do the event, but still I am really bothered by the fact they didn't add any new Turkey Day items. I got literally the same stuff I got from last year.

New items or recipes definitely would give more of an incentive to do the event again. I suppose they don't expect the average player to play long enough to encounter these events more than once or twice, or didn't want people to miss out on old rewards/create a complicated reward system for a minor event.

In any case, I'll probably skip this whole thing next year if nothing changes... 😅

Good to know I don't need to do the event for the new recipes, today I don't have that much time and prefer to do other stuff instead. 😅

Also, for those who are going to buy the recipes tomorrow— Nook’s Cranny is having a Black Friday event where everything is 30% off.

I am a little disappointed that the recipebook was the only new reward, but I am glad I gathered most of the ingredients earlier this month so that I did not waste time hunting for dungeness crab and the like only to get the same stuff as last year.

it went by fast for me too... i did everything he asked for... & then he told me to just enjoy the rest of the day :>

i had the ingrediants in my storage, after all... & maple & ketchup gave me a clam & a oyster to use :D

it was fun, though ^^

Since this is my first Turkey Day event I just want the DIY recipes right now so I can carry on decorating my island with items such as the Turkey Day Garden Stand which I've been wanting for ages. I don't care too much for the cooking recipes at the moment especially if I can buy them tomorrow from Nook's Cranny.

You can buy both the Turkey Day DIYS and the new Cooking DIYS the next day at Nook's Cranny's so there is no point of doing the event. You can time travel if you want, but its up to you to decide.

So the cookbook give me from him is Olive Flounder Meuniere and pumpkin pie andclam chowder and gratin? Am i missing anything new this Day?

Well not really. Its basically the same event from last year. No new Turkey Day DIYs, but you only get the cooking DIYS. Yeah pretty lackluster if you ask me.
