If I bought them this past Sunday... do i have to sell them today? Will they go bad if i don't?

Reason I'm asking is because I bought them at 109 bells and they are only selling for 40. At the beginning of the week they sold for 78 then progressively got worse. Last week i say them at 248. My town is feeling the impact of the recession.
