Hi everyone!
This is probably an extremely unpopular opinion but I feel that K.K. Songs in NH should of been only available during performances and not sold as an every day special in the catalog. Sure you would purchase them once you’ve received them but I feel that you should only be able to obtain them first by listening to his performances.
Would it take longer to obtain them all? Of course! But I feel as it is now, K.K. taking up a Saturday for a song that you could buy from the daily specials is pretty pointless. I remember being excited for K.K.’s night and getting a new song. Now I find myself feeling annoyed that he takes up a special visitor slot. Getting new songs doesn’t feel special anymore since they’re featured in the catalog every day anyway.
Anyone feel similar or is the current K.K. Setup fine?
I personally don't mind, mainly because I rarely remember/have time to enter every saturday evening just to get a new song. Also the live performance and the recorded are different enough, so I like to listen to both versions to compare them.
Also if I'm not wrong it was already a feature in NL?
I agree, I don't bother watching the performances when I can just buy the songs whenever. It's also kind of annoying that he sits in the plaza all day but you can only request or receive songs after 6 (7? Idr). If he showed up in the evening, like in past games, it would feel more special.
Now that you've mentioned it, it's kind of odd that they gave us access to the songs since the start of the game, considering how much is time locked early on. In older entries I think it took to around the 3rd Nook shop expansion to start buying K.K. songs.
I always forget that you can buy them. I just go and get a new one on Saturday. I like listening to K.K. Especially when a few of my villagers are also there for his performance.
I agree 100%. It feels weird that we have a Nook Mile achievement for seeing KK multiple times when his songs are available in the Special items tab every single day. Its the only achievement I am not fond of completing...but I want all the stamps! Sure, there are some songs, like Stale Cupcakes, that are better live but at this point he should be like all the other NPC and be a random.
idk, I think selling them with Nook Shopping is a good idea for those who wouldn't be able to see K.K. on a Saturday evening for whatever reason, and having K.K. there every Saturday is good if Nook Shopping hasn't been selling a song you're looking for.
i personally don’t mind but i’ve never purchased any of his songs. i look forward to when he shows up as i like getting his music through performances + working towards completing the nook miles achievement c’:
I personally don’t mind. I love his live performances. It’s less about obtaining a particular song and more about being able to listen with the villagers. Their headbobbing when K.K. Slider performs is absolutely adorable.
i don't care about his live performances anyway -- i only go to make progress on the achievement -- so whether or not the shop sells the songs makes no difference to me. also, i'm pretty sure NL was the same? and in that game, i also only went to make progress on the badge. in fact, i went to view his DJ sessions more and actually listened to the music in those cases whereas i just set the console aside during his live performances and wait for the credits to end.
Yeah, I've gotten to the point where I'm basically just going to see his live performances for the achievement and just to hear him perform, which kinda sucks. Same with NL, really... although they also made it so you could decorate with them, or make music boxes out of them, so swings and roundabouts there.
Wish they'd bring back K.K.'s live tracks as obtainable bootlegs as well, that was one of the ideas e+ did that hasn't been brought back yet, and it'd give me something else to do!
I don't mind it. I look forward to seeing KK since I let him choose the track and whatever he plays gets set as the song on the outdoor record player for the week.
