The thing I'm most excited for is the farming and cooking. I love video game food. The update could have been just the farming and cooking, and I would have been super happy about it. Everything else is also exciting, but the cooking is my favorite part of it by a huge margin. ^o^;>

Me too! I loved cooking, gardening and nectar making in the sims 3. One of FFXV’s biggest highlight for me was how yummy the food looks. I really wanted another game with food or cooking in the gameplay .

Was hoping for cooking for some time but I honestly didn’t think it was likely to be added, so was really surprised in spite knowing there was info about there being potatoes from dataminers before.

And I always have been a big fan and hoarder of food related furniture. I’m so excited there is a pop bottle! I’m trying my best not to look at the update discoveries thread again or any pictures since I still would like surprises. ☺

I recently went to Santa Monica beach (and saw the beach for the first time ever) and since have always wanted a boardwalk type of thing. Originally I had a boardwalk and a kind of concert next to the boardwalk.. NOW that there are lots of carnival items coming I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly excited to put those items there I'm dying for the adorable merry-go-round

Definitely focused on the villagers. Waiting to find out the gender and personality of each new villager has me practically tearing my hair out. Not knowing which of the returning girls has been moved to Sisterly is frustrating, but it's not as bad because I can narrow it down based on gender. I'm also hardcore obsessed with pre-ordering packs so that I can get the amiibo I want. I'm refreshing pages constantly. 5 of the new set are potential dreamies, 8 I really want, and 6 I'm curious about and hope to try. There are also 7 NPC cards I'm interested in, but they aren't nearly as big of a deal to me.

As far as in game I'm super excited about vines. No longer will I be faced with achingly bare cliffs. Plus putting two vines next to each other makes them function as ladders, so they'll make my island feel at one with nature and be useful at the same time.

Morning aerobics! It was my favorite part of the Gamecube AC, aside from the Sports Festival

Literally. I hated waking up early but the aerobics and seeing police dog was worth it. I loved the aerobics dialogue and villagers exercising with you! The music was amazing, as well.

While I am very excited for all the new stuff, I think the thing I'm most excited for are accent walls. I was already planning on doing that with simple panels in my house already.

Base game no DLC new thing, I'm most excited about the new crops. I've wanted more ever since pumpkins released and there was more found in data mines.

I see so many people restarting their islands just to get all of the new stuff, but I am surprised that they didn't think about losing all of their hard earned bells, cataloged furniture and DIYS. As someone who has restarted so many times on the 2nd switch I refuse to even do that, because I know how long and tideous it is to get through all that tutorial nonsense. For me I am just going to get items that fit well with my personality on both my islands. It doesn't have to be a theme that I am going for, because unlike most people I prefer it to be simple and straight to the point.

Maybe they did. I agree with you though. When I had my switch I restarted NH once and I didn't regret it because of belltree. It was tedious diy wise and special item wise but doable. If it wasn't for bell tree I may have regretted it.
However this update will make getting certain items easier...

There's a lot I'm looking forward to, but it's weird, the one thing that keeps popping up in my mind when I think about the update is those fancy lookin' partition walls that kinda separate the room. SO I guess that's what I'm most excited about?!

But when I think about it more, I'm just excited to see Brewster and some new furniture.

i’m honestly looking forward to all of it, but if i had to choose one thing that i’m looking forward to the most, it’s meeting the new villagers and finding out whether they’re amiibo only, or if you can find them in the campsite and while island hopping as well! i genuinely was not expecting new villagers to be added, but they all look amazing (especially shino and cephalobot) and i can’t wait to meet them all and earn their posters/photos!

i’m also very much so looking forward to the new mysterious islands that kapp’n will be taking us to, and finding out what all new plants and crops there are, as well as collecting gyroids! i honestly never really cared for the gyroids in previous games, but they look so cool in new horizons and i can’t wait to start trying to collect them all!

I'm mainly looking forward to the DLC, specifically redecorating villager homes. Kid Cat is in desperate need of a better interior, and I'm hoping we can also alter their exteriors!

I'm also super looking forward to the new furniture since they all look so lovely! Been waiting on the rococo set, I've missed it sm.

So hard to choose one thing... I'm over the moon with everything... but the one thing that I was super happy to see was the sea shell music box. And Sasha.

The new house styles are way up there, as well.
