should i buy swotch lite or regular swotch. i think swotch lite will be fine but idk cuz no tv mode but the regular is simply hige and i have a tiny face so idk

opinions? lol

I have access to both (own a baby swotch share an mama swotch with my family). If you’re primarily going to be playing undocked I’d go with the lite as its two thirds of the price of a regular (if you’re patient and wait for a restock like I did) and the size difference isn’t too terrible (I feel like the regular switch’s screen is too large now). If you feel that you need to play docked then it gets a bit more complicated.

i agree with the whole size thing and yeah the mama swotch seems a lil too big haha. I guess i don't care too much about playing it on the tv cuz i usually play animal crossing on handheld anyway. and there is also a family mama swotch that i currently use so i mean i wouldn't be totally left out of multi-player (which we've done these past thanksgiving or christmas days, all of us play 8-player smash bros lol). i guess my only complicating emotions for this decision is if i'll be able to play with the gang or multiplayer whatsoever and feeling left out or whatever (does that make sense? to me it sorta does ig... lol)

Personally, I was surprised how much I enjoyed playing docked and also have the bigger screen even for handheld/tabletop. I also really like having the rumble affect for multiple games which isn't on the lite.

If it was a second console, I'd say go lite but I like having a momma switch for first/main console. So, that's my vote.

If you can play the mama swotch whenever you can and just want a personal one for yourself, I’d go with the baby swotch!

If you’re ok with lack of rumble & smaller screen, I think baby swotch is good for a second console c: it’s lighter & more portable imo and if you’re mostly playing undocked I think it’ll work just fine plus it’s cheaper and has cool colors!

do you mean like when people come over for local multiplayer or for online multiplayer? Bc if it’s online, you can do that on the baby one and for local, you & the gang can use the mama one?

I'd go with the larger Switch. Some games are not available on the Switch Lite due to the rumble function, and if you think you may be interested in any of them, I would go with that. Same goes for if you think you'd ever be interested in playing the game docked.

I know there's also been issues with drifting joycons. If you have a regular Switch, you can always detach the joycons to replace them, or send them for repair. With a Switch Lite, if one the joycons is broken, the entire unit needs to be repaired, and you can't just replace them as you please. For longevity's sake, I think it's best to go with the regular Switch if you can.

i suppose thats part of it but not really being able to play multiplayer on it at all i guess. but i suppose if i wanted multiplayer i'd just use mama swotch. ig i just feel selfish having one to myself but ik it'd be fine lol

Ahhh yeah I see.. depends on the game for me like I’m fine with Pokémon or Animal Crossing online on the lite but I definitely want the bigger screen for Splatoon or Smash

but if you’re really concerned about multiplayer bc of the lack of docking, smaller screen, and non removable joycons then definitely go for the mama swotch

I'm not sure what you mean by huge? The thing's not even half the size of a PS4 and fits comfortably on my TV stand.

Nevertheless I agree that if you're planning on playing primarily in handheld mode, the Switch Lite is probably your better option. It's more affordable, and from what I know, the battery life is better. If I'm wrong on that, someone please feel free to call me out. There are advantages to having the docked version as well, however. It's a much more feature complete experience, for one, and I can't imagine what playing mulitplayer games would be like on the Lite. Again, though, that all hinges on whether or not you even plan on using those features.

I'd personally go for a regular switch but that's only because if your switch lite gets joy-con drift you will need to replace the entire unit.
At least with the normal switch you only need to replace the joy-cons.

true, true. i was worried ab that for a while, that is definitely something to consider ... but ofc replacing joycons cost ~70 dollaroonies~ lol

i typically play handheld, for animal crossing at least - idk why but i don't like ac on the tv, lol. but if i got my own switch i'd totally get BOTW which is amazing on tv so that's something to consider too. i just wish regular switch was cute and tiny like the lite lmao

Go for the full version, you can make it portable anyways, and you can play it on a big tv which is a nice bonus. You can also play it with friends physically unlike the lite.
