Villager Door Wreaths

I accidentally gifted my starters the opposite wreaths that I had planned for them.

Does anybody know whether they’ll replace them if I regift the correct ones? I’m hoping it’ll overwrite the first one completely instead of them alternating back and forth…ugh

Not yet. Just restarted the game and haven’t even had KK’s concert.

Can the wreaths be permanently fixed with the DLC? I guess that’s something at least, but I don’t really want to rush to that point

Well I was going to tell you that You need to complete most of the DLC you would've unlocked the feature to customize villager homes. You have the freedom to choose whatever wreath you what from the villager's home when you talk to Tom Nook. To gain access you must have your Resident Services building built and you should get a phone call from Tom Nook to have you visit the airport, but since you don't have it its out of the question.

I think maybe try giving the villager a different wreath and they will swap it out. I don't know if they changed that after the 2.0 update but you can also tree and send it to them with a letter by going to the airport, by the card stand, and attach a gift to the letter and send it to the villager you want.

In the past they sometimes replaced them. You can just keep gifting them the same one until they do if they don't for some reason. Also you can use the DLC before kk comes. I've completed it actually and my island is still 2 stars.
