I have had tank on my island from the beginning. He is my starter jock. I have all reactions from him, have gotten nicknames from him, made a secret greeting and even been asked to change his catchphrase ( I said no because I like his catchphrase and I don’t want my villagers sharing them) I have not however managed to get his photo. This is one spoiled rhino. I have given him so many shirts, jackets, workout equipment etc but still no photo. I will admit that I don’t always give him something everyday.
are there any tricks to getting photos? Something new I could try? Do I need to just make sure I gift something everyday?

have u got 3 other photos?
i think i read somewhere (maybe reddit) u can only have 3 best friends at a time but idk if it's true or not

I second the fruit trick! I had trouble getting photos before, but the fruit trick works. I have no problems now. I usually just wrap up 3 non native fruits (1 more than needed, but its easy) to give them.

I’m started giving them 5 wrapped non native fruits , it’s my 3 rd day by now. Oh I did not know that we can give them to coconuts as well , good to know that

I have only recently started and so far have three photos. I got two of them yesterday 😍 started off with the fruit trick then moved onto pumpkins as I had so many and no use for them 😂

I had this problem because Tammy, my starter never gave me her photo, so what I did was order like 10 antique beds, wrap them all, and give them to her every day

I havent gotten any photos from any of my villagers yet. I’m also close to Whitney and Melba too

I swear by the stack method! Give them a piece of exotic fruit (coconuts count) from a stack with a full inventory (note- the stack MUST be unwrapped)- they'll take one piece of fruit (as long as it's not wrapped) and then mail you a gift the next day. You have a higher chance of getting a picture that way. I've gotten all but one of my pictures (and I have more then I know what to do with at this point) this way!

I recently got Kody and Daisy to cough up their photo, both times it was in exchange for wrapped fruit.

Argh RNG eh? :p I definitely do recommend the fruit trick, two non-native fruits in gift paper :) plus, the best thing is it doesn't mess up their houses! Which was a big problem I encountered when I first started playing the game :p

Can you tell how many days does take to get their photos by gifting them?
It depends. The shortest amount of time it took me to get a photo was 17 days, and that was from them being new and unpacking to receipt. For whatever reason, Daisy took her sweet time, while Audie was in a hurry.

I second whoever suggested the fruit stack method! I think about half of my pictures have actually been from the fruit stack method. it means you have to wait a bit of extra time to actually receive anything in return but I think it does increase the chances you get a photo!

I just stacked unwrapped non native fruit, with a full inventory, and got their pics in the mail.

I always give a 2 stack non native fruit wrapped. The gift has to be a certain value amount to actually be able to receive the photo in return. I forget the exact value but 2 non native fruits stacked up do the trick!

I just gave tank a wrapped stack of coconuts will a full inventory but he just gave me some stupid peice of clothing after I handed him the gift. Is there some trick to it? Because as soon as I give him the gift there’s a space in my pockets
