Villager talking about Dr. Shrunk.

When I spoke to Gayle today, she said something about Dr. Shrunk. I was pressing A too fast and missed what she said, however I'm positive Dr. Shrunk was in the dialog. I ran around talking to everyone, hoping they would say something, but got nothing.

Has anyone else had a villager speak of him? I'm kind of excited, because he's my favorite, and this gives me hope that he might return.

Normal villagers will mention reading "Dr. Shrunk Explains It All" as one of the random book titles in the game.

People who have hacked the game have found the Shrunk Funk Shuffle as one of the reactions they haven't given to us yet, so it's hard to say at this point.

I've mentioned this a few days ago. It was a dialog that wasn't referencing his book, it was a completely new line of dialog that I haven't seen before.

I think he's probably coming next year. I wouldn't be surprised if both Shrunk and Brewster came back together, with Shrunk performing at The Roost, like K.K. used to do.

I do hope you're right, and I'm thinking the same. It makes sense to me that they would come together and Shrunk would perform there.

I'm glad you asked this question because the exact same thing happened to me - I mashed the button too fast so I missed exactly what she said. Nice little bit of dialog. I like it when they refer to NPCs like that. (Hopefully we get him back, though I hope his jokes are better if he does return!)

When Isabelle does announcements, she'll sometimes mention a funny comedian she seen on TV the other night. I'm guessing this is another reference to Shrunk.

Like Etwon20 said, I've seen people get the Shrunk Funk Shuffle (from NL) as an emotion by modding their game. It doesn't confirm him coming back but that's pretty solid evidence that he could come back and teach us that emotion

(There's other emotions from NL that people were able to get that aren't in NH right now, which I assume may come back considering the huge page of empty slots!)

Also I reckon DJ K.K. is coming back too because of the Direct. He was referenced directly about being a character that would be added later so maaaaaaaaybe Club LOL could come back somewhere with Shrunk (and Brewster?) but maybe that's a bit of a stretch

It was the big one that was like 45 minutes. The narrator says "we plan on adding more characters later" and it showed DJ K.K. not being available on the amiibo machine thing. I had the Pascal amiibo before he came back and it said the same thing so if they are showing DJ K.K. in the direct, he's got to come back right?

I just hope it's not for Harv's Island...so maybe don't get your hopes up lol

In fairness, if that's the case, why isn't he already added for Harv's Island since normal K.K. is already in the game?
Don't want to overhype it incase, but I bet he has a bigger role if he comes back than just being added to play around with in Harv's Island

I haven't seen this dialogue yet but it may be because I don't talk to my villagers as much as I used to - time to fix that I guess! I really hope this means they're bringing him back - but as a year-round NPC and not an annual or event-specific one.

I don't know if you just skimmed over the messages, but we know that. We are talking about something deeper than just that.
And if you're referring to the OP, they didn't mention amiibo.

completely unrelated, but I just wanted to say that if you ever accidentally run past dialogue you're interested in again (like I do loads of the time lol) then you can hold down the screenshot button and take a recording of the last 30 seconds to see what it was

I do remember there being some dialogue about dr. shrunk's book though, so hopefully that's a hint that he'll be back one day. he was one of my favourite characters!

Well seeing as they added new reactions recently and how there is room for more in the future I wonder if Dr Shrunk will make an appearance to wear only you can learn new reactions from him. Kinda like in the Halloween Event when you meet Jack he teaches you the Haunt emotion and your villagers will teach you the Scary reaction when you talk to them while giving candy to them.

Yeah, I've had Marina mention Dr. Shrunk's book to me before. I'll be honest, I'm not crazy about Shrunk, but I would give anything for the Dr. Shrunk Shuffle emote to come back. That stupid little dance was just my absolute favorite.
