Villagers currently not in New Horizons

As of right now, there are almost 80 Villagers who are not in New Horizons, many of which haven't been in an installment since the very first Animal Crossing. Which of them would you most like to see back, if you could only pick a top 3, 5, 10...?

For reference/reminding of who is not in New Horizons, you can use the below list on Nookipedia and sort by NH, and then look at all of the Villagers who are not in the game. I've also made a Tiermaker in case anyone would like to participate and share their list that way

I would personally love to see Dozer (the sleepy bear) and Woolio (the cool sheep!!) back in the game. Both of them are such neat designs!

Poko HAS to come back so Ike can be reunited with his son!! Idk much about the rest so I just ranked them based on looks. No hate for any of them tho cus I think all of them could look great with updated designs

As I said on another thread, I really want Cece, Viché and Inkwell. However, that thread only let me pick 3.
I also want to see the Zelda villagers come back.
I don't know the N64/GameCube ones very well, but some of them look pretty cute and I'd like to see them return!
Lastly, I think Champ deserves to come back.

Dozer would be a great addition to the bears! I'm surprised that there aren't more lazy ones considering they are known for hibernating! (also I totally just realized that's where Nate gets his name from lol).

omg you're so right! I love that theory that all of the cubs are children of the bears. Even without Ike, Poko is super cute with that pattern of fur on his face.

The amiibo villagers from New Leaf are so great, I'm honestly surprised that they aren't making an effort with Splatoon 3 and Tears of the Kingdom to use the opportunity to promote them with New Horizons. Yeah, yeah "no more updates" but STILL!! Give us the cute Nintendo-themed/inspired villagers! They would be some of the most popular in NH, I'm sure. Here'e to hoping they eventually make it back into a main series game in the future

Yeah I could've sworn I made a post yesterday very similar. I'd love to see the amiibo figures from NL have more compatibility again. It's such a missed opportunity to not have the Zelda and Splatoon villagers come back with their special Nintendo themed furniture/items.

Here's mine. I like the LOZ villagers best and wish they'd come back. Penny is another one I'd like because of the fanfic Terrible Secret of Animal Crossing. I don't want Pierre back because we already have enough cat villagers and Meow/Bow are too overhyped for me

Same. It's unfair that the Sanrio ones got in while the Splatoon and LOZ villagers got left behind

I really want Medli and Epona to return. Those 2 are my favorite Zelda villagers (W. Link a distant 3rd), so I wish they would return soon.

What's weird to me is that the Zelda and Splatoon villagers are inspired by characters from other Nintendo games. And it's not like new Splatoon and Zelda amiibos aren't coming out. AND they are two really popular franchises as well! They would be a huge hit to return (and I personally think that they would all look incredible in the HD-ness that is New Horizons!

I have a very small list of who I would most want, though ideally I would like all crossover villagers back in the game
I do like Bow/Meow, but there are others I'd prefer more, plus they're kind of overhyped imo, so they're a tier just below
The 7-Eleven and Fueki crossover villagers are neat in their own right, but the brands associated with them are probably way more of a thing in Japan than it is in the US, so I just put them in "Indifferent"

The rest is entirely based on just my kneejerk impressions of their designs as I'm not familiar with every absent villager in the franchise
Though Carrot the Cow and Flash the Bird are very cute!

I would not be surprised in the next AC game they will cut out villagers that were in ACNH but no longer in the new one. That is bound to cause some backlash if they do that.
