Villagers currently not in New Horizons

I'm honestly very surprised Woolio was not brought back in the 2.0 update as a Smug villager. Would've felt like a slam dunk to me.

I imagine whenever AC6 comes out, they'll probably focus on bringing back more original villagers, perhaps with some personality adjustments to try and even out the number of villagers in each personality. I'd wager at some point the series that we'll have everyone back who's been cut from the series minus the promotional villagers, which I don't think will be coming back unless they do another Amiibo (or whatever the next thing is for the next console)-style promotion. (And also maybe no Champ).

I genuinely want them all to be back. Similar to cutting Pokemon not being okay, it's really not okay (to me) to cut out even a single villager, no matter how ugly or weird they were. There are some UGLY villagers that are in NH, and you just can't know if one of these villagers trapped in the Gamecube days isn't someone's favorite that they're still holding out hope for. (Just compare the tier responses in this thread and you'll see some people say HELL NO to some that other people put in their MOST WANTED.) I, myself, have a favorite still stuck in my Gamecube game (Quetzal), and I was so, so hopeful for him to make it out of his low-polygon prison when NH came out.

I placed the ones I personally really want in the S tier, but I want EVERYONE to make it eventually.

While you can get them via island jumping, it's wild to think that Nintendo never re-released the Welcome Amiibo cards like they did with Series 1-4 and the Sanrio set. So technically they're in the game, but you would need to have good rng or outside help.

I'm def with FaeLeaf and wish they'd all return. I can't say I have strong opinions on any of 'em, aside from Inkwell who I so, so wish I could have on my island I fully expected the Splatoon villagers to return, along with new ones inspired by Marina and Pearl. very disappointed it didn't happen.

I need Woolio so the silly little sheep trio (Dom/Pietro/Woolio) can be complete. Also Pierre! Give us enough clown buddies to form a circus island.

Meow and Bow are also super cool - love the retro green screen, though I'm not sure how they'd translate to HD. I feel like their low poly-ness and pixely faces are a core part of their charm lol

That's so true - it could look a bit "too" good. Although they captured the vibe of the big chunky box tv perfectly so maybe they could do these two justice hahaha

I keep seeing pictures of Myau the robot cat. She reminds me of a tamagotchi screen kinda I would of love to of seen how she looks in New Horizons.

Basically any cat that was in previous games I would like to see them in New Horizons although I know that wouldn’t happen

I am glad they didn't bring back the Welcome amiibo villagers that were a gimmick taken from other Nintendo games : Epona, Cece, Viche, Ganon. They do not belong in Animal Crossing.

Out of the old Gamecube game villagers : please do not bring back the two Tamagotchi faced villagers, they do not belong.

Please bring back : Betty, Belle, Emerald, Gen, and Penny!
