So, part of the update includes villagers asking if you'd like to come visit, and villagers dropping in on you (if the friendship is high enough).

The first couple of visits I made, it was just wander around, hear how happy they were to have me over, and, oh! here's something for you.

Maybe I didn't talk to them enough, or maybe those villagers aren't high enough friendship, but a couple of days ago, Purrl asked me to come over. She offered to sell me something from her house, if it interested me. She would only sell her mini antique table or double sofa (neither of which I wanted to see go), so I declined. But it is cool that they brought that back, because a few of my villagers have homes that need a bit of tidying up. At least until I can unlock the redesign.

I was glad that they brought this back too. It helps you build connections with the villagers more, instead of just walking in while they are building DIY’s.
It’s nice to clean their house out of extra things too.

They can also ask you to play a game with them called
High card low card. They draw a card and u have to guess if the next card will be higher or lower. If you win you get whatever item they offer.

I saw someone on Reddit saying that one of their villagers invited them to their home and when they tried to leave they were unable to because the villager kept on preventing them from leaving. I am not sure if this is a bug or if its been patched recently.

Pfft I am not going through that nonsense again. I already did enough of that card mini game during random campsite visits.

I had Fuschia invite me over and play the card game. Haven't heard anything of them selling you items before this, though!

I wish the campsite visitors play this particular card game cuz it's much easier and fun lol.

I loved that they brought back the feature of being able to buy items from the villager's home and I'm able to undo my horrible gifts from early in the game.

I was surprised though that Muffy gave me one item (the futon) for free when she asked if I wanted anything. Then I was able to buy the second item. That was a pretty cool surprise! Perhaps if it's a high level of friendship?

Yeah...I didn't like being 'abducted' by Shep for a few minutes. Every time I tried to leave he wouldn't let me go. We talked, played his card game...and then I started feeling like a captive.

I would've just close the game if that were to happen to me. I hope thats not a bug because if the villager kept you there it would be a "Soft-lock"

I haven't been held 'hostage'. Whenever I wanted to leave, I'd just get some variant of "Oh, you're going? Thanks for coming over!"

Not sure I'd like the alternative.

I can't tell if it's a glitch or not yet.

Like the above user mentioned, like in New Leaf when you'd go to leave you'd get a variation of 'Oh you're going already? Thanks for coming over.', along those lines.

When I tried to leave Shep's house, I was getting variations of 'Don't go yet, the party just started!' with no option to leave. After a couple minutes of rolling around on his bed (because I honestly had no idea what else to do) I attempted to leave again and this time he let me go.

Needless to say, I've turned down every single other villager invite since the incident lol

I missed having that feature and I'm glad they brought it back in 2.0.
I remember inviting my favorite villagers to my house in NL and I liked it
