villagers not celebrating Halloween

I didn’t get to play yesterday, so I went back and none of my villagers are acknowledging that it’s Halloween. Isabelle made an announcement about Halloween, and all of the npcs in my town are dressed up. There’s decorations outside of my Resident Services. And there was a note posted to the bulletin board that Halloween would start at 5pm. But it is 8pm in my town and absolutely nothing. Not even the Halloween music is playing. What do I do?

It was a time sensitive event/time locked event. You needed to have done it by midnight last night. Sadly you won't be able to now, until next year.

From 5pm-midnight the event was on, sadly it wont be available anytime other than that time on oct31st

Does this mean you can’t go back to events anymore? I’ve read about the past events of the year being available to play if you time travel back like Bunny Day etc.

Certain events you can yeah, like bunny day.... But the halloween event is one that you can't sadly.

Hmmm that’s so weird of Nintendo to lock it that strictly because I’m sure most people have actual lives and actual occasions to celebrate and most players miss the in game events and just time travel back to celebrate in game. Especially weird to make this strict time lock move right after they basically announced that support for the game (regular updates) won’t come as often anymore after the version 2.0 update.

I'm not sure what's happening with your game, but I don't believe the event is fully time-locked.

The event is not locked now.
I can get to it no problem at all.

Are you certain you're on the right date?
Maybe you changed it to the 31st but didn't change the date so the game thinks it's November?
Or you're not in 2021?

I just TT back to the event with no problems. Music, TT, costumes the whole thing running perfectly fine.

Yeah, but I'm guessing jack isn't there anymore and you can't do the mini game stuff associated with the event?
