Villagers somehow don't remember you at Happy Home Paradise

When I go to talk to them they act like nothing ever happened. They just say the same stuff and never once mention how "Oh I like that vacation home you built for me at the Resort" its almost as if that whole thing you did for them doesn't exist.

I was kinda curious what they would say if you gave them another souvenir chocolate.
