villagers you never expected to love?

are there any villagers you disliked or felt neutral about until they moved in? fang was never a dreamie of mine, but i found him on a nook miles island and asked him to move in on a whim. now he's my favorite!

Becky. I don’t plan to keep her but she’s been way nicer to me than Diana has.

Drake! I didn't mind him at first but he's super cute, his little frowned eyebrows are adorable and he looks like an actual mallard duck, he'd be the perfect pair to Molly <3

Marina. I always thought she looked ok, but a lil overrated. But she's so cute and shiny and I love her new default outfit. Definitely keeping her over Fauna should I get one of the dogs to replace for normal villager.

In nl my town was full and i was trying to get someone out so i can try trading for Marshal. Colton moved in The same day i finally had an open spot, because i traded with someone. I was not pleased with him and wanted him out asap, and to add salt to injury he diceded to plot his house right next to mine and ruined my plans. I ended up liking him and was sad to let him go.

Same thing with Ken, he was my first smug and i didnt care for him in the start but i think i cried a little when he moved out lol. Funny how this game works, you get villagers that you couldnt care less about but after spending a month or so with them you become attached.

gladys! i went to the islands to find one of 8 other dreamies and then fell in love with her on the first island haha. she's got such a sleek design and is so friendly. hard not to love her. also her house is unique and lovely - cool rock roof and interior is a suuuper warm and comfortable weaving room. such an underrated crane.
also, beau; i've never been on the deer popularity train, but this game i found both fauna and beau in my first 4 islands and invited them in. beau has been super sweet to me and is just a dumb lovable bean. like, so dumb, but i really see why other folks love him.

Bill was one of my starters. Didn't dislike him. But he was very plain looking so I kinda meh at first.

I found it immediately adorable how he kept talking about his muscles and working out since he's this little duck-thing.

And when he started giving me presents his clothing choices were dope and matched my irl fashion taste (gift giving is my top love language haha).

Lyman. He’s one of my starters too. His frowny face reminds me of toon link and he has started to grow on me now. xD

I was neutral about O'Hare and Flora but now that I have them I think they are here to stay.

I don't care much for the gorilla characters in general but after having Boone in NL and Louie as a starter in NH I have a new appreciation for those two :'> I don't even know what it was about Boone, I used to hate jocks and I hated them during the time he was in my NL town, but he grew on me a lot. And now I have Louie in NH, who is also a jock, and I can't tell if jocks are simply better in this game than before or if it's because I've started taking interest in working out but he's grown on me a lot too!

Marina! I was always neutral about her until I found her on a mystery tour. Now I love her and I think she might have even usurped Fauna as my fave normal.

Freckles! I was absolutely horrified when I got her lol. But now I love her. I'm not keeping her though...simply because I don't have room for her with all of the other villagers I want. But I'll definitely be sad when she goes.

Egbert! He's such a sweetheart and I've come to really adore his design. He has sunken eyes and always looks worried. Poor baby.

I had Alice in New Leaf as a starter and I hated her, realized I actually loved her to bits when one day her house was gone lol, I was so upset

Curlos, he really wasn’t my cup of tea but he’s really sweet and keeps watering all of my flowers. He’s moving out tomorrow and I’m quite upset about it

Monty. Not a super big fan of Monkey Villagers, but he turned out to be quite awesome. You never know what he might think and he always looks so smug. I also love his house.

sterling! he was one of my starters, and jocks are one my least fav personality types but he really grew on me and is such a sweetheart

Leonardo. He's given me a random present nearly every day.

Bam! He was one of my first villagers, and I never really had him around in New Leaf. I think he's awesome now.
