We now see the map... and an airplane!

.... no one lives in tents? In the trailer it literally shows villager houses and the main character's house...?
And I'm sure shops and museum get added later as you build up your town.
I wasn't happy about this game but after the treehouse I'm way more optimistic. I just need confirmation that holiday's return.

Most of the trailer & all of the treehouse showed tents so I just assumed so. Hoping it's a build up thing too.

That's fine, imo, I just really hate the feature and don't think it's a good one. I hope they'll make it optional

That I'd be happy with. So around March there can be less threads like "I left my gate open and got my gold flowers stolen I QUIT ACNH"

There wasn?t any shop other than the crafting tent. Maybe future upgrades and growing the island into a regular village?

Yeah! Preferably WITH A HOUSE??? I know that in the trailer Tom specifies a price, but I NEED that house...

I can't imagine 8 people on one screen like that.

Oh god... That would be hell. I noticed that in the end of the trailer, there's a player who is in their inventory. They're in the large group of eight players. So hopefully that's proof enough for the online play. Local co-op; who knows? They have a year to fix it, though.

I hope in the next direct they talk about new villagers and shops and all the other things that made animal crossing great. I love what they are doing now, but some of the old features need to come back. I really hope we can craft stuff on the scale of PwPs. The dream suite needs a comeback. There is a lot that they haven't showed. I don't expect them to show it this early, so its all good. Just gonna need a lot more info.

tl;dr its underwhelming, but understandable. The hype is still ongoing and I'm waiting for the next treehouse/direct.

I?m sure there will be large scale builds. I mean, if you can erect huge, dramatic structures in pocket camp, you 100% will be able to in NH. Plus, the gameplay was the very beginning of the game and they mentioned villagers being able to make suggestions, like in NL.

Oh I must've missed the part where they said the villagers can make suggestions. Gonna watch the gameplay stuff again later on.

Also on another note...

Since you are developing the island before other villagers join, does this mean we are automatically the leader or whatever? In other words, the quote un-quote mayor of this island? Lol

Looks so empty and boring, where are all the shops and buildings

They have another showcase coming up. Maybe they'll show more there? If not, I'm sure we'll see it in future directs.

I'm just... kind of disappointed because of the size of the map. Like it's SO small????
The whole game hypes me so much but the size of the map???? Hello?

I’m not sure if you start out with villagers. We don’t know how fushia and whatever the other one was got there, or if they had houses.

Edit, you can see twil villager houses on the map during the gameplay so maybe they started there.

From what they showed, it looked like the map didn't correlate with the actual island. The island felt a little bigger. But then again that might've been from the size of the Switch's screen. But I have high hopes that it'll be expanded on.

Dude, calm down. If you booted up NL for the first time, you wouldnt see any of that either. They just released a teaser trailer and really early gameplay.

Or: since this was just a demo for E3 the final maps could be bigger

So excited! Of course, it still looks very unfinished and though I know it will eventually look better, I'm a liiittle nervous :/

Kapp'n will probably be a pilot of the airplane that takes you to the shopping disrict. The question them becomes whether it will be more like Main Street in New Leaf or the city in City Folk. I'm sure we'll eventually get a full trailer based around that.

I think the plane also serves as your means of travel to other towns

People need to chill a bit. They explicitly said that they were showing gameplay early on in the game. Remember back to when you started out in previous Animal Crossing games: I'm sure your town wasn't much to look at either, and wouldn't make anyone hyped if they looked at it.
