What Are You Happy About Today?

Today I'm happy because:

- I love my current collectible lineup. So many beautiful collectibles were released last year!
- We had a nice work lunch with some good food. The highlights were my boss's homemade taco dip and a coworker's homemade chocolate mousse. They were delicious.
- I had a good massage therapy session.
- My dog was so happy to see me this evening.
- I spent some quality time with my husband and my dog.
 
I'm happy because today is my birthday and I had a fantastic day!! 🥳

The first good thing that happened is that I woke up at 6 AM. I almost never wake up early, so that was pretty nice (though I was probably just excited about my birthday, haha).
I had a lot of time to get ready for school, eat breakfast, watch Poofesure's new video, do some sketching, play Tomodachi Life, and watch South Park with my brother. My step-mom also left me a birthday note, which made me smile. ^^

School was pretty good, I got quite a bit of birthday wishes from my friends, classmates, and teachers. I also brought my tablet so I can show my friends the drawings I made. And speaking of, I finished catching up for my art challenge!! (I also got to draw my #1 favorite CPU Mii, Yoko, so I was super ecstatic about that!) Since today is my birthday, I decided to pick a Mii to draw instead of a random one. After careful consideration, I ended up choosing Pierre! 🎨

I also played AC:NH and 'celebrated' my birthday there! I was so happy that Apollo (my #1 favorite villager) was hosting the party. 🥺 (Also did the same in Tomodachi Life - Not as eventful, but the first time I logged in that game on my birthday, so that's cool!)

When I came back home, my dad was baking the cake and cupcakes. I got to help decorate the cupcakes, too! 🎂🧁 We ordered pizza (upon my request) and I got to open my presents; I got a necklace, some money, a Chromebook (which was originally my dad's), and some Animal Crossing amiibo figurines!! I'm very happy with my gifts this year. 🎁

My older brother and one of my uncles called to say happy birthday, and we got to chat a bit! I'm so happy to get to talk with them again! I didn't do much afterwards (I mostly watched South Park and played Wii Sports Resort), but overall I had a wonderful day today!!

I'm thankful to everyone on TBT who wished me a happy birthday, as well as the people I know in my life and online, I appreciate it!! 💕
 
☾ The finale of Densle's Animal Crossing animation series came out today, and I got to watch it with my mom! ^^ Kinda sad it's over since we've loved keeping up with these, but it was all so incredibly well done.
☾ Also watched some more Youtube with my parents later!
☾ I added a few more new desktop wallpapers to my rotation!
☾ And I got to play both Rune Factory 5 and ACNH for a little while! I had Celeste on my island this evening, and she gave me the DIY for the Galaxy Flooring! It's so pretty 🥺🌌
 
- My first day back at uni for 2nd semester was today, and it went pretty good. I saw my friend and class was pretty interesting
- Wore a cute outfit, did my makeup, and put my hair up in a bun! :giggle:
- The weather was cloudy, but very mild in temperature and not raining 🎉
- Slept for 3 hours when I came home
- I'm actually kind of happy I'm not going in tomorrow (physically cannot because no trains are running due to strikes), commuting is tiring!
- I also completed a trade I've been wanting to do for a while on one of my fav online games last night!
 
Today was a pretty good day! I finished a jigsaw puzzle I’ve been working on all week, and my husband got Lisa Frank sugar cookies at Target!

Today I'm happy because:

- I was able to make more progress reading last night. I wasn't so exhausted that I fell asleep after 2-3 pages. Instead I actually finished a full chapter. Only 25 pages left to go! 📖
- I woke up to some light powdery snow this morning. Normally that wouldn't make me happy, but it's the first snow all winter and it wasn't bad. Just enough to cover the grass and easy to wipe off the car windshield. It was all gone by noon. ❄️
- I went out at lunch and bought my nephew a birthday present. I found a pretty cool dinosaur encyclopedia for kids. 🦖🦕
- Browsing through the book store always makes me happy. Everywhere I look, I see something cool or interesting that I wish I could buy. Everything just feels right when I'm in a book store. 📚
- I had lunch at one of my favorite sub shops. I don't get to eat there very often. Then I had a piece of leftover cake from our party yesterday when I got back to work. 🍰
- My dog greeted me at the door and was very good all evening. 🐶
- Tomorrow is Friday! I'm hoping to have a productive weekend so that I can relax when I take my vacation a week from now. 😀
 
- @Foreverfox The Dallas Mavericks beat the New Orleans Pelicans 111-106 tonight! 🏀 🔥 😤

- Having fun playing Fire Emblem Engage.

- Glad that the snow and ice have prevented me from going into the office all week, because I do not want to go in.

And those are the only things I'm happy about today!
 
☾ LDShadowLady posted a new Empires video today! My parents and I got to watch it together this evening. c: I don't think I'll participate, but I think the idea of having viewer-submitted stories for the books in the bookshops is a really cute one. We watched some other videos together too!
☾ My torbie kitty hung out with me while I was working today! She also got really concerned about me when I took a quick break to do some stretches, which was both funny and adorable. 😅 I hadn't considered it before, but come to think of it, I don't think she's ever really in the room with me when I work out.
☾ And I made it through the Meline Crystal Caverns in Rune Factory 5!
 
It's been a fairly quiet week, so I didn't have much to post about. Recap time. :)

- Went to knitting group Tuesday and made progress on my shawl. We also had some new people and they were fun. I hope they keep coming.

- My writing group got canceled Wednesday night, but one of the other women and I made plans to meet at the mall for a bite to eat and then parked at a table in the B&N café for a knit night. I was able to reach the lace section on my shawl. Means it is now a stay at home project, but I have some socks I can bring for social knitting.

- Yesterday I went to the hair salon for a wash and blowdry. It's a bit of a luxury, but I'm doing this once a week now. I process my hair a lot so I'd rather have her use things that are better for keeping it from breaking.

- Today is bitterly cold and it'll be worse tomorrow. There's a wind chill warning in place. I'm off tomorrow (start of staycation), and I'll be keeping bundled up with the cats. A day of reading, watching movies, knitting, and naps. Oh no. How will I manage? ;)
 
- I'm doing well at work.

- The roads are barely driveable, so I ordered my favorite coffee and made sure to tip as much as possible. I missed you, favorite coffee. :cry:

- I got paid today! That's really good because it'll replace the several thousand dollar bill I just had to pay, lol.

- I plan on playing more video games today, including Pokemon Unite, Fire Emblem Engage, Genshin Impact, and maybe even some Animal Crossing: New Horizons. :sneaky:
 
Today I'm happy because:

- I accomplished all of my goals at work for the day.
- I secured back-ups to cover for me when I take time off in a week.
- I got my nephew's present shipped and it will arrive the day before his birthday.
- My husband and I got corresponding eye appointments so we can go together later this month.
- I tried the new Crispy Melt Taco at Taco Bell and it was pretty good.
- I still love my new shower!
- I get to sleep in tomorrow morning!
- Tomorrow we're going shopping for a new bathmat and towels, then have dinner out at a nice restaurant.
- I'm so close to finishing my book. I should be done with it this weekend.
 
Lol I’m recapping the past few days again.

February 1, 2023
  • The weather was pretty nice in the morning. In fact, as the sun was rising, it made for beautiful scenery with the clouds something like this!
  • I did some soldering in one of my classes and had fun trying to get comfortable with it, even though I messed up a few times lol.
  • In my other class, I took apart the transmission again with a group this time taking out the shafts and getting a better look at the gears used… It was kind of a pain trying to put it back together after haha.
  • I ate some food from Five Guys.
  • The weather was still nice with sunny skies after I got home. I didn’t want to miss out on it any further and decided to go for a walk that lasted for half an hour. It’s nice getting some exercise while enjoying the sunshine.
  • I watched a Zelda randomizer video where it combine two games into one which were Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask! To make things wackier, some items that would be typically found in the game that they were originally in would end up in the other instead.
  • I completed a post for my island journal! While playing the game, I got a little nostalgic hearing the 3pm hourly theme again. I know the NH soundtrack isn’t that great compared to others in the series, but it’s still got some good tunes to listen to.
  • I cooked some tasty food for dinner!
  • Got to play a bit of Gran Turismo 7.

  • It was another sunny day!
  • I got some college stuff done at home.
  • I had to get some stuff from the grocery store. While I was there, I took a quick look at the Hotwheels section and the first thing that immediately caught my eye was a 2017 Acura NSX! The best part is that it so happened to be the last one there, so I got lucky. If you're curious, I did spot this car in real life somewhere around this time last year funnily enough, but I haven’t seen it again since. I guess it didn’t want to show itself once more and wanted to hide lol. Actually, this car does appear in Gran Turismo 7, but with a Honda badge instead… And is also the one that conveniently tries to annoy me whenever an opponent drives it. 😆

  • Speaking of which, I played a bit of Gran Turismo 7 to pick up my reward credits from the online time trial I mentioned a few days ago featuring the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4. The gold target time got bumped down again and I just had to make another best lap from the previous day to ensure I didn’t lose it at the last second. I did end up achieving gold and love the placement I got on the leaderboard. I got 5151st place which is kinda fitting in a way considering it partially matches up the number I use for my username.

  • It was very cold today with at least -15C, but it was yet again another sunny day!
  • I bought a Matchbox car from a dollar store which is a McLaren 720 Spyder!
  • I picked up part two of Sailor Moon R from the library and managed to watch a couple of episodes with my sister!
  • I ate some snacks while the two of us were watching.
  • I made some stuff over on Inkscape!
  • I watched The Reset Part 2 by Densle and I really liked the animation and lighting throughout!
 
⟡ I saw my favorite person last night. I had a very long and satisfying hug from her. I was a terrible friend to her yesterday and did some stupid **** (because BPD) but she once again forgave me. I really need to stop taking her kindness for granted. Anyone else would be done with me by now, literally anyone else.
⟡ My profile is mostly private so not many may have seen this, but I really do like this commission I had made on Fiverr. It’s only on my About Me which is why not many have seen it yet. I’m obsessed with the pose. If you recognized the exact pose, I applaud you.

⟡ I slept very well last night despite thinking my favorite person was mad at me, lol. It took a bit for me to find motivation to get up, though. I just needed to hear from her that she wasn’t mad.
⟡ I’m lowkey very happy that I can stealthily use the men’s room at work. I clean the restrooms so people just assume I’m cleaning or checking up on them if I go inside. I honestly don’t like people knowing if I have to go either, so it’s a double perk. It’s confidence for when I’m not at work, in public and have to go.
⟡ I received a PM on here letting me know that my posts on this thread has inspired them to get a binder! Won’t mention their user as I’m not sure if they want to be publicly mentioned, but it really made me happy.
