What Are You Happy About Today?

Okay, I'm done sulking now, lol.

- Work has gone well this week and has been just the right amount, too.

- I've been playing more video games than watching anime lately and have enjoyed the nice change of pace.

- I'm the only one here right now, so I've been feeding the kitties every day and taking care of them. I absolutely love how their eyes light up when I pull out their liquid food. It's very cute.

- I'm about to get some much needed rest. Going to need to do a lot of laundry tomorrow while I can, haha.

• I started a career readiness workshop to get me ready for part-time work. So first step is getting more volunteer hours in to put in my resume to make up for lack of other experience due to living with mental illness most of my life. So I have a breakfast shift next Wednesday kitchen prep and serving breakfast at a shelter near here, then I have another shift that Friday but it will be a lunch shift. I'm excited to start volunteering more and getting more experience
• I feel really good today. I was struggling for a few days but am feeling quite a bit better now. My mood is a lot better.
• I've been enjoying my new hobby of painting miniatures
• I got some cleaning and laundry done today
• Been reading A LOT. My focus is a lot better lately, grateful for that

- We're having a Spring party at work to also celebrate a few co-workers' birthdays. I love my staff, so it's always nice to do these seasonal get togethers.

- I just secured tickets for us to go visit my Grandpa for his 80th birthday in May. He lives out in the country too which is my favorite place to be. I'm really excited to see him since it's been a few years.

- Ostara is coming up, and we'll be celebrating it on Sunday. I'm looking forward to coloring eggs and eating the heritage-breed mutton roast I got for the occasion. It's going to be wonderful.

- I basically have a week off uni due to strikes, and low-key enjoying to time off! But I'm happy I got some work done today, listened and took notes on a lecture then did some essential reading + notes and an engagement assignment

- Had some delicious toast, butter, and jam with my fav thicc malt loaf from Aldi, I've not had any in a while so that was nice! I also had nutella on my porridge and it was glorious, I forgot how good nutella is

- Did a 15 min HIIT workout after skipping for a couple of days and feel good

I took a chance and joined a small server on Discord a few weeks ago. Now I’m kinda in a friend group now! It’s a nice feeling.

☾ I think I'm almost finished with the request I've been working on! ^^
☾ Set aside some time to finish Rune Factory 5's main storyline today and I really enjoyed it!! Now that all that's settled I'm really looking forward to focusing more on farming/relationships/etc. (*´꒳`* ) I have my first star shower to look forward to next time as well!
☾ Found some art I hadn't seen before of some of my comfort characters!!
☾ Watched LDShadowLady's newest Empires episode during dinner with my family! I love her new bat villagers so much omg
☾ And I even got to make a few more rubber band bracelets today!

Some good things despite the day being fairly uneventful lol.

• I went to the mall with my sister and just looked around in some stores. I didn't have classes today, so it was pretty chill.
• Feel free to skip this point. I was genuinely surprised to see this car and it gave me goosebumps as I was driving home. I almost couldn't believe that I saw it at all and that so happens to be a Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth parked on the side of the road! Wow! It got me really happy when I recognized its headlights and front grille. Oh, and I absolutely love how wacky its rear wing looks haha. I did a bit of digging around looking for interesting facts and while this car is a Ford, it was mainly sold for the European market only, so there's a good chance that it's another one of those cars that have been imported here! The best part? I actually have a Hotwheels of this Sierra RS500 Cosworth and it appears in Gran Turismo 7 believe it or not, so that's a double whammy!
• Ate a burger from Five Guys and a slice of pizza for lunch.
• Got a bit of college stuff done.
• I had a chat with @/Midoriya over on discord and it warmed my heart that he enjoyed chatting with me as I was checking up on him to see how he is doing.
• I also got to chat with @/xSuperMario64x as well! I uh, geeked out a bit talking about the Ford I just mentioned in this post but he's totally fine with me rambling about cars in general lol.

Today I'm happy because:

- It was another calm day at work and I got a decent amount of work done.
- I saw a lot of squirrels in my yard throughout the day.
- The temperature is warming up again and we had a nice walk this afternoon.
- I had a mint chocolate chip waffle cone this evening and it was really good.
- I've decided to start incorporating some yoga into my daily stretching routine to help with my weight loss goals and my mental health. It'll be slow weight loss, but it should be easier on my back than other methods of exercising and that's the most important thing. While researching poses, I found out that some of the stretches my chiropractor taught me are actually yoga poses. I'm starting off slow and just adding in a few easy poses to get the hang of it, but so far it's feeling good.
- I'm adjusting to my new glasses and every day I'm thrilled when I find something new that I can see more clearly. For reference, I've worn glasses for distance vision nearly my whole life, but this month I had to get multi-focal lenses for the first time because my distance prescription was getting so bad it was making everything close up really blurry. It's been amazing realizing how long it's been since I could see my nails clearly when trimming them or see the individual grains of rice on a white plate. The dials on my car's dashboard are suddenly crisper and I can read things on my phone without having to take my glasses off. I wasn't happy about the idea of getting these lenses, but I'm so glad I did.
- Tomorrow is Friday and then it's the weekend!

Just a few small things today

• It's the weekend!
• I finished a book today, and I ordered two more books today as well.
• I think I was able to successfully troubleshoot something today.
• I managed to source some software so that I could work on some work stuff at home over the weekend (I mean, I'd rather not have to work on it at home, but it's still convenient!).

I was just notified that I got the volunteer position at PetSmart working with taking care of the cats there. Their litter, food , blankets, etc. I will work there on every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm.

I was just randomly checking my email and saw an email from the person that said they were looking through applications and wanted to know if I’d like the position

I wasn’t sure if I’d hear from them after I put my application in a couple weeks ago.

So I’ll be doing that position and then occasionally helping out at a different place near here to kitchen prep/serve meals to the community

Just a few small things today

I finished a book today, and I ordered two more books today as well.

I definitely need to get back into reading so I can buy some new books.

I got my potatoes planted and my red onions. Though my red onions really started to sprout before I planted them, so I have them on the porch where they can't freeze. One green sprout looks to be 2 or 3 inches.
I also got my mushroom spawn in today! I have to let it sit for a couple of weeks though so it can spread through the grain more before I use it. I also still need to put holes in my buckets.
I found my first sprout today from seed. It is a red cabbage sprout. Haven't seen my bell pepper sprouts yet though.
My spouse has been home most of the day.
There's a raffle this year for clovers. I don't remember one happening last year, so I am excited that we have one this time.

- Finished the work week on a strong note!

- I got paid today.

- I get a three day weekend!

- Only two chapters left to go in Fire Emblem: Engage! I'm almost to the very last boss.

- Ordered an authentic copy of Pokemon Platinum and started up a Nuzlocke on it, which is going well so far. I traded in all my old Pokemon games years ago in order to get my Switch, so it's nice being able to afford to get some of them back now that I have more money.

I have off for a few days. So that's always nice not to have to get up at 3am. Even if I get up at 6, which might not sound like much to others, but to me that's sleeping in.

@MiniPocketWorld Nice seed starter collection! Have you ever planted potatoes before? Watch out if you haven't. They get these 'potato' beetles. Every time I handled them, they burst into orange goop. Matt Damon never had to deal with that.

I ordered some steel tubs that I am going to drill holes into and create permanent gardens for some of the stuff that takes up too much room in the main garden. And the stuff that is one and done. Like carrots, beets, lettuce, ect.

Tomorrow an equipment piece should arrive, if the tracking is anything to go by, for something for my exercise room. Really looking forward to seeing how good of quality it is and if it works for what I want it to do. I did a lot of research, but sometimes you never know.

I was able to get into a better schedule for my exercising. Been kind of hard to juggle it with all the other stuff I got going on. So it was nice to have some more structure so it's not so sporadic on what days I get back to it.

THE WEATHER!! Past three days has been so nice, like, not proper spring day (there is still plenty of unmelted snow and the sky still looks a little dreary), but not freezing so I had my window open for a nice breeze with the bonus of not worrying about suffocation due to allergies. I don't want to get too excited though because it's not unheard of for it to just randomly start snowing again mid April/early May but I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Also (half in part to the weather being perfect motivation) got my work done early yesterday, as well as just grinded through and fully finished my comms so it's been super chill yesterday evening and today. Going to keep my queue closed to focus more on my bigger ongoing freelance projects for a little while too as well as have more free time to do things that don't involve staring at a screen.

Okay, I’m happy about a lot of things, so I’ll do my best to list them all.

One, I decided to go back to my cute, pink and pretty theme, as I’m just too attached to it. I do like other things too of course, but I’m more picky nowadays. Plus, doing this allows me to be more picky about the collectibles here on TBT. I obviously can’t collect them all, so I’m just gonna sell the ones I don’t want and go after ones I do like. Also, doing this gives my confidence a bit more of a boost, which is what I need a lot these days.

Two, I also decided to once again try to grow my bangs out. So today I parted my hair on the side once more. I think it looks better than my bangs.

Three, I’m doing a lot better on my Nintendo Switch Sports game. I’m landing even more strikes in bowling now. I always do bowling, but maybe one day I’ll try the other sports.

Four, I’ve been watch some more of my favorite YouTubers playing some different games and now I found a couple more games that I want to play later when they come out on Switch hopefully sometime this year.

➣ I bought the tickets so my favorite person and I can go see the new Super Mario movie. We’re going to the late showing on April 6th!
➣ I had a very short day at work followed by my favorite person relieving me. Plus, she was incredibly sweet as always. I love being hugged by her and being able to leave work afterwards. She’s just so unpredictable, like she picked me up last night and carried me across the dish room, lol.
➣ My dish partner (the Autistic one) did so well by himself today! It was only for a half hour because I was cleaning the restrooms but it got real busy and he did amazing staying caught up. I was surprised because he typically gets overwhelmed with lots of dishes but he did great. I told his helper how proud I was of him.
➣ I did a bit more research on relocation and I’m feeling better about it! Although I am dealing with a particular problem related to relocation, I figured out there’s an option for me. There really are workarounds if you put the work in and do the research. My biggest downfall has been lack of research, so I’m glad I’ve been looking into every possible thing.
➣ I picked up a new travel accessory! It’s definitely not a need, but it does make sense for me since most of my money unfortunately does go towards laundry. The price tag of this wash bag will pay for itself with the amount of times I wash clothes, lol.
