These two were frequent collaborators back in the '70s, and this album was the magnum opus of their partnership. If you like funky rock music with saxophones, this is your album. There's also a few slow songs mixed in - I especially like "Paradise/Sides" and "Diamond Eyes". "Chainsaw" could also be seen as a successor to the 1972 song "Frankenstein" as both are entirely instrumental and go pretty hard.
Don't be fooled; Ian Hunter does NOT mention Santa (or anything Christmas related in general) in this song. It's one of those songs were the title is not mentioned anywhere in the lyrics. Regardless, it's a great fast-paced rock track with excellent guitar work by Mick Ralphs.
