what are your favorite little details in acnh?

I don't know if it counts as a small detail, but I love going about my island business and seeing two villagers notice each other and do the greetings reaction. So cute! 😊 I also love the way a villager will ask you a question, and then much later a different villager will mention that they were talking to the first villager, and they heard x about you. It gives this little community feel.

My favourite detail is when a fan interacts with other objects. One time it was facing a sandcastle with a flag on it, it started to wave back and forth! This also happens with other furniture such as plants and clothes being hung out to dry. Sure, it can also happen when the furniture is outside and the weather is breezy, but making it happen indoors is cool nonetheless!

When your villagers visit, they will talk to you about the first item in your room that you touch. I just love how there is so much expanded unique and hidden dialogue with them, its makes them feel more multidimensional.

Someone can tell me if this is NH but I know its in NL. I think its in NH? Well in NL when you go down to the beach you do not hear the hourly music as much and I think that is a really cool detail because you are farther away from Town Hall! I do believe its in NH though. If not then atleast the waves are very loud in NH lol!

Yeah it's in NH as well. I only know because during the height of the pandemic I worked so many shifts that I barely had a day off. So booting up NH and going to the beach was able to put me to sleep when I needed the rest. The music tones down a bit and the waves take priority. Still, I don't know what they were thinking with the waterfalls. They are just way too loud.

I know! The water falls are INSANELY LOUD. Like it goes from dun🎶 dun🎶 dun🎶 to SHHHSHHSHSHSHHSHSHSHSHSHSHSH🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

The details in this game are so cute and sometimes surprising that they even thought of some of them but my favorites are:
  • The way that plants blow around in rooms with fans
  • The lighting changes when you open and close your curtains. Like when I found this out I spent far too long just opening and closing my curtains and watching how the lights changed even in the mirror :)
  • The way that rasher's ears flop around when he moves sometimes. It's so cute
  • The noise when you quickly change directions when running
There's a lot that I like but I can't think of any more right now.

I'm still in love with the way the moon reflects on the ground/in the water. It's my favourite!

The jiggle physics applied to the handheld bags. They move around like an anime girl.

Having drinks like the Shamrock Soda or Sparkling Cider have its own animation to denote a toast, letting them be different from other drinks that are now drinkable.

Both the Cranny and Resident Services looking different depending on the season and event, sometimes it's even many small changes leading to the big event.

The way flowers and bushes shake when the beans hit them.

The sign outside of Able's creaking when it's windy.

I saw that when you exchanged feathers on NL, they didn't even bother to make specific models for each color, it's just a bunch of different-colored feathers. For NH, they took the time to make the appropiate models and that's such an insignificant but neat detail that showcases the love and care poured on this game.

Your neighbors mentioning how it's the first time they visit your home and also giving you their favorite music track when you visit them for the first time is very cute.
