- get better at math cuz im big dumb ;(
I struggled with this mentality when I was in school, too -- ironically, also around math. I found that when I judged a class/subject as being hard, I actually struggled significantly more when trying to absorb the content, and more often than not, it felt like my efforts were being met by a brick wall. I think the thoughts of "I'm so dumb/bad in X" leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I've found that focusing on understanding the material (rather than thinking about how easy/difficult I view it) has lent me to improved academic results and an overall better learning experience, even when grinding practice questions and assignments. It does take effort and mindfulness to recognize these thought patterns and strive towards rewiring our brains to focus on the process of learning instead of the learning itself (sounds counterintuitive, I know XD), but this might be what is blocking your brain as well.
Another, more tangible tip that I have to you is try to understand the reason why things in math work the way they do. Don't hesitate to ask your classmates/friends either to explain concepts to you again either. Sometimes, an instructor's explanations might not click with you, and they may struggle with explaining the same concept in a way that makes sense with you as well.
I wish you success, and feel free to message me if you ever want to chat! I might be able to answer your math questions, too, so long it's not stuff like multivariable calculus or linear algebra.
I still struggle with those subjects. XD
