I personally LOVE delis! Not only the meat, but the sides too. When I go to my local deli, I look for pasta salad and salami. What do you look for?

how are you defining deli?

like the "deli section" at the grocery store?

or a stand-alone restaurant??

I haven't really found many good delis round where I live. I suppose there's some nearer to the city, the best we have round here is a subway. I go there ocassionally and it's usually a meatball and cheese sub. Anywhere that sells meatballs is good to me

stand alone delis: desserts
grocery store deli: cheese. when i was younger mom would go to the deli and get me a few slices of cheese id eat while we walked around to sustain my metabolism while we were out. its become a bit of a habit at this point

those in grocery stores.. probably truffle crisps and random sausages and salami and stuff.

ah, well the "Deli" section at my grocery is also the hot foods section so I usually get fried chicken or hot wings there...

i dont usually get my cheese or meats from the deli section because of the higher prices; unless it's something somewhat specialized or high end, like prosciutto, knackwurst, jarlsburg, caerphilly, or mascarpone...

now a deli restaurant, i'm looking for an awesome sammich, usually a reuben or muffaletta...
