What fandoms are you a part of?

I don't do fandom anymore. Too much drama for my taste. I just watch stuff and enjoy it from a distance, I do kind of miss the sense of community sometimes though.

I don't participate much in them unless I'm doing it with friends that share them so like not in any official groups or forums or ****, but I do love JJBA and certain music artists/groups (a lot of ppl i know don't share my music interest in those i like anyway lol)

I'm not into Fandoms either, because there is just too much Drama going on.
I just enjoy what I like and maybe join a Facebookgroup to see other people talking about it,
but I never ever write anything, because I know it can end up in Drama.. :D

I think being in a fandom is a bit extreme, with too much drama. Of course, I'm not entirely sure what a fandom is, but I'm assuming it's a group of people who are obsessed with something, which of course I'm not. So no fandom for me. XD

I try my best not to dive too deep into those communities. Too much drama and overreaction depending on the community. Don't get me started in Steven Universe...

I mean, yeah sure I'm passionate about the things I like but not to the point where I make rituals and worship ridiculous things.

does it still count as a fandom of yours if it's a piece of media you finished ages ago and don't even think about anymore? eh well. out of the top of my head... south park, don't hug me i'm scared, gorillaz (do these even count i'm so confused), kakegurui, hilda, voltron, avatar, fullmetal alchemist.

I don’t think I’m part of any fandom? I never get into groups because I can never be active enough to participate in activities. The most I’ll do is join Facebook/discord groups then end up never talking in them and just lurk. I’ve been part of a few naruto, Pokemon groups and some otome game groups throughout the years

I'm not part of an actual group, but having followed Supernatural since 2005, and made many parodies of it, I consider myself part of that family. ^_^

I'm in a certain anime fandom, the fandom has always been toxic and every since the manga ended, it got worst.
I only like being around the ones who don't cause drama.

uh, I still remember all of the drama that happen after the manga ended ..it was insane.

I do not consider myself directly apart of one as I do not actively participate, but I will regularly view posts when it is ongoing. That would include Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall, Steven Universe, etc... It is mostly cause I think anything that could be said has been discussed pretty much. Also, I mostly just do not know what to say?

None whatsoever, outside of this forum basically.

I'm not a particularly social person and am more inclined toward having a few close friends than just jumping into the fray as it were. A smaller group of people I know well, who coincidentally might share some interests (but not necessarily), is far more preferable than directly seeking out people who share the interest but who I might not otherwise gel with. I browse different communities based around things I'm interested in, but don't tend to participate. Generally more of a lurker.

Considering the reputation for drama that fandom seems to generate, according to people I've spoken to and/or whose accounts I've seen who have participated in them, it seems that I've no reason to change course anytime soon. No offense to anyone who takes part in any fandoms, do as you will and enjoy yourselves. No judgment here. It just overall seems like it's not for me.

I used to be part of some fandoms back then (mainly about TV shows), however, nowadays I only check them out to see what's going on but wouldn't call myself being part of any of them anymore. I don't know, it feels like whenever you look at certain fandoms today (mostly from popular things), you only see drama and salt everywhere. Sometimes you can't even have an own opinion without getting attack by angry fans who only accept one opinion and nothing else. Sure, there are fandoms where only a certain amount of fans acting like idiots and you can also find friendly fans, but yeah, I still prefer to stay away from some fandoms completely for reasons.

Having the feeling of being a part of a community seems appealing at times but you're right. Being a part of a larger group of people usually means bad things will happen eventually. The creators of these shows cannot please everyone so there is destined to be some whiners. That said, some communities are known to complain more than others, not sure why that is. Could be the fanbase is super young or it's just too large maybe.
