The roses cover more of the grass visually, and they are very bright so they add color to the area. I also personally think roses fit an urban area better than hyacinths do.
I like how hyacinths in general are less in-your-face and they blend into their surroundings better, instead of demanding attention like the roses. But I tend to use hyacinths more as wildflowers in nature-y areas, so that's the feel I get from them rather than urban.
So my vote goes to roses but you really could make it work either way! I would look to themes to figure out which one between the two I preferred, like do you want roses or hyacinths to be the first thing people see kinda thing. I'm having a hard time myself figuring out what to do with my white roses because they're just so bright I've stuck em on the beach now cause I couldn't find another species/color of flower that looks good with them lol

Ooh, but if I could add a possible suggestion, have you considered white lilies? I feel like they could ride the line between the situational, very proper and bright roses and the quieter, wilder-looking hyacinths, because they do both aesthetics pretty well.
Voted for white roses because I think it looks the best! It complements the stone patterns/white bench. White hyacinths definitely work too, but I really like how the roses look!

I like the roses better, but I'm biased because I personally think hyacinths are a bit of an eyesore, but I second the above poster, I think an orange and black there could look really nice.
