I was looking at the total sales for both Pok?mon Let’s Go and Happy Home Designer.

Pok?mon Let’s Go was able to sell 10 million copies within less than two months (which is good by Nintendo Switch’s standards). But for the next three months, sales have slowed down. For the first six months of 2019, it nearly sold a million copies. It won’t be able to outsell the other remakes or the third game associated with Pok?mon Red and Blue. But to be fair, it won’t sell as well as the GB copies because back during those days, the Pok?mon fad was huge. It started to slow down at the second generation, then it finally dies in the 3rd generation, with the true fans being the only ones left. But I can see how people are getting sick of Gen I pandering and don’t like Pok?mon Go mechanics replacing popular mechanics.

Happy Home Designer was able to outsell the GameCube Version of Animal Crossing, but after 3 million copies are sold, it’s over for Happy Home Designer. It really isn’t a popular game.

let's go was trash, coming from a person who's played the gen 1 games, it's just that but worse. HHD was kinda fun, actually.

Both games are kinda a disappointment on their own.

Pokemon Let's Go feels like a rushed game Game Freak just wanted to release as fast as possible so
that the Switch finally has a Pokemon game since fans asked for it. Although it's nice that Pokemon
can follow you again in this game, it doesn't change the fact that it's not the best remake out there.

Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer is from the idea behind it not bad, but it gets boring after
a while and it also has no challenge at all. Not only it's pretty easy to unlock all shops and buildings,
you don't even need to put effort into the houses of your villagers, since they are even satisfied with
a almost empty house (like only put the items they want to have in the room(s)... And done). If your
villagers would at least complain, showing that they are not happy with the end result, if you would
get points or stars for the houses you made which effects your ranking/status... Well, then you would
have at least a goal, to try your best and improve over the time. It also sucks that you the player
don't have a own house and that the game also not support Streetpass. Like come on, they could
have brought back the HHA from New Leaf easily in a different version. The online mode was also
lame.

If I now have to decide which game is a bigger disappointment for me, then I would say Happy
Home Designer. Because with Pokemon Let's Go, I think I would have at least more fun and more
to do.

let's go wasn't a game made for die hard pokemon fans i think. it was made for people who are looking to get into the series, especially fans who had picked the game back up/got into it for the first time because of pokemon go. from the start, i think nintendo made it clear the let's go was not to be mistaken for a main series game!
my opinion is that HHD was a bigger disappointment but thats probably because my expectations were lower lol

Actually, while GameFreak noted that LGP/E are different from the upcoming "core" games (which were revealed as Sword/Shield), I'm pretty sure they've said that LGP/E are mainline series games.

No doubt LGP/E are their own kind of mainline series game, but GF really doesn't need anymore between the three lines they already have (the original sets, the third versions, and the core remakes).

To keep this brief, I dislike anything Pokemon Go related. Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu solidified that. Enjoyment and Fun are supposed to be the main factors I have in mind when playing a Pokemon game but Pokemon Let's Go? That ain't it,chief!

Happy Home Designer... Never played it. Never had an interest to as I don't want to decorate other villager's homes (just my own).

Moral of the story:
"my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.." - Review Bruh

let's go cuz lets be real, no one has wanted motion control since the wii

honestly both weren't that bad. lets go is more for beginners, hhd is literally made as a side game. i guess in that comparison let's go was a bigger waste of time and money? at least hhd was something special on its own

Let's go was a bigger disappointment. It was the first pokemon game I wasn't even interested in buying.

Just the name itself "let's go" gave me bad vibes and they weren't wrong, since it was a quick cash grab game with a 50-60$ cartridge locked paywall that requires buying a toy to unlock and complete the pokedex. No thanks.

At least with happy home I got what I expected. A simple game focused around just decorating, which can really help give you ideas for your own home in acnl.

Is it good? Nope. It got boring after an hour, but I'd be even more disappointed if I payed anything over 15$ for let's go eevee pikachu, heck I probably wouldn't even play it for free.

I enjoyed playing Happy Home Designer. It's something nice to play in short bursts of time whenever you feel like designing something. Pok?mon Let's Go didn't interest me enough to buy it, so that's the bigger disappointment for me personally.

I've never bothered to play either of them, but of the two I would probably say that I'm more disappointed in the Let's Go! games. The Let's Go! games are probably better, fuller experiences since they're actually story-driven and are in some respects pretty similar to an ordinary main series Pok?mon game, but the Go! style of play is very uninteresting to me, Kanto has been overdone by this point already, they lacked the ability to transfer other Pok?mon from different regions into them (a preview of things to come in Sword and Shield), and that Pok? Ball Plus seems like a pretty skeevy rip-off since they tied Mew to it.

Happy Home Designer, like Kuriboh said, seems like it has the potential to get pretty boring quickly and that's why I never felt the urge to purchase it. At the very least, it looked pleasant and sort of interesting and it even gave access to exclusive furniture that was, thankfully, reorderable once it was in your New Leaf catalog.

On a macro level, Let's Go! is a far superior game, but I'm just going for the micro level with my own personal preference. I'd much sooner play Happy Home Designer, but I'm in no rush to do that either.

There were only 3 things that disappointed me about Let's Go, to be honest:

1. It was not as difficult as the original Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow games. The starter was clearly overpowered;
2. No wild battles, and the fact that every Pokemon in your party gained EXP from an encounter made the game too easy;
3. The safari zone being butchered into a Pokemon Go integration.

There were occasional issues with lag as well, but they never actually impacted outcome of gameplay, so I can forgive that. As I recall, this game did not support the Pro Controller either, but I only played it handheld so this didn't bother me. I actually liked the gyro aiming in handheld to land the Pokeball, and I would hope to see more of this in the future games without the actual swinging mechanic. For those who don't like gyro aim (for ... whatever reason), the right joystick should be usable for this as well.

I mean I didn't even get HHD because it's just AC without my favourite feature (the town) while Let's Go is at least a cute Pok?mon game that's still pretty much like the original?

Let's Go is definitely the more disappointing game. At its core, the ideas and changes aren't bad. The Pokemon Company specifically stated that certain pokemon mechanics would be removed like abilities, only have 153 pokemon, etc, etc... As someone who purchased it used and played it, it's a beautiful game, all the updated soundtracks are great, etc... However, it was most certainly not a game that's worth $60.

I spent about 15 hours on Let's Go the entire game from start to finish. Let's compare that to something like BoTW, I currently have over 200+ hours and counting on that game and it also only costs $60. Hmm? What's that, you don't think it's fair to compare two different series? Alright then, fair enough let's use other pokemon games instead. Every other pokemon game prior to Let's Go costs $40. FRLG, imo the best Kanto remakes, not only has all of pokemon's main features up to Gen 3, but you could also travel post game to the Sevii Islands.

In my honest opinion, Let's Go was a fun, nostalgic trip. It is enjoyable if you casually play it and probably did help many people get into the franchise. Price is my main issue. Let's Go is the definition of a cash grab. Just because a game is on the Switch doesn't mean you can sell it for $60. TPC was probably aware of this but still sold it for that much. I'm sure if the price of $40, then it would be a bit better received.

I can understand why Lets Go was disliked, and I get why people chose to skip it. But I can also see what the objective was with the games. And that was to get the frequent Pokemon Go players who have not played a mainline game, into the main series by combining the mechanics of Pokemon Go with the Main Series. And to say the very least it worked. Not only that but the Switch itself managed to get people back into gaming after years so having something like this that appealed to a casual market was a thumbs up for GF and The Pokemon Company because now they have a larger audience to appeal to for the next true mainseries game.

I think though this leads into the current issue at hand, being Sword and Shield. And to say the very least, the games are on a downward spiral because of Dexit. That's another issue I'm not gonna discuss.

Now if you want my personal opinion on which ones are 'disappointments', neither really but if you want to be critical then Lets Go. Lets Go wasn't the typical target demographic of mainseries games and as explained, made to get Pokemon Go players into the main series. As for HHD, I don't see anything wrong with it considering it was marketed as a spin-off and capitalized on a big mechanic of Animal Crossing that everyone enjoys. I can understand it being repetitive, but the beauty of Interior Design is reinventing and letting your creativity flow, experimenting with different designs and concepts to ultimately create something unique.

Pokemon Let's go, obviously. At least happy homemaker wasn't another amiibo festival.

Let's go Pikachu and Eevee were pretty bad. The catching system was bad, the battle system seemed a little off, and being able to summon the support trainer to you whenever you wanted completely threw the game off balance and gave you a huge advantage over everyone. Not to mention that it's basically a remake of Pokemon Yellow.

HHD was kind of fun, at least for a while. It gets boring and tedious after a while of playing it, but at least it gave you some challenge.
