I have an old video on my 3DS that shows our playable characters tall and thin looking. When did they change to the old look?

By old look, I mean they look like the did in Wild World instead of the way they looked I the original video. I'm new, so when I can post pics, I'll show you what I mean.

No, i had wild world, its not the same at all, perhaps your watching wild world videos

Hmmm I have some vids on my 3DS too, I didn't notice the characters looking different to more recent vids though... I'll go check again.

Huh? They're much taller than the characters in Wild World. The WW characters are unable to wear things like pants, skirts because they're so short. This isn't true for New Leaf.

I think someone may have been looking at the wrong videos lol

No... they're not.

I remember thinking it looks so weird when they were taller. I don't know when it was but I stop caring. I kinda like it better because you see more detail.

I don't really see a difference. Other than the fact that the graphics are more polished, I don't see a difference. If anything, the torsos were a little longer in the early trailers, but the legs are longer in the current game. I'm not sure if that's just my eyes playing games because the graphics are fuzzier.

Same here, When I first saw the new human player design I didn't really care much for it. but the more I saw NL gameplay the more the design grew on me.

I've always preferred the new design, it's actually gotten kinda jarring for me to see the old designs now. I had the same issue after Wild World seeing the horns on the GameCube design.

Now that the characters are taller with the expanded clothing like, I don't think that Nintendo will go back to the old style.

I kind of miss the squat characters, but I'd rather have the customization options that the tall players offer.

While we're on the topic, is there some sort of character creator thing? I wanna know which hair/eye colors/styles look good together to make a good decision on what face I get.

They are just as tall as the original video, but they do seem a little more portly!! :p

Character creation is the same as previous installments of the game, except now you can choose your eye color.

Okay, go to 0:16 of the first video and 0:23 of the second video. Both male characters are wearing the same shirt.
I am noticing virtually no difference between character models.
