What idea would you like to see implemented if swimming is brought back?

Personally, I would like to see the ability to swim in any watery areas. I liked the idea of diving, but I would like to see swimming give us access to new and unique areas.

I always thought it would be cool if you could go swimming in the rivers on your island and when you get to the waterfall you could go swim through into a cavern behind the falls, where their is a little area to explore.

Well, it's similar to what you've stated above about having access to new areas but, even if we were able to swim across our main island & onto smaller islands would be cool. It would be extremely tropical themed this way and it could be completely by choice but maybe having shops on one island, then your main town on the other sort of thing.

I think it'd be interested to let animals swim too. Maybe have a beach day where some of the villagers will be swimming in the ocean. Just as long as it's not something that interferes with those who don't yet have the wet suit.

And ensure that animals that can't actually swim / don't typically enjoy water, aren't in the ocean. Cats, for example. Rhinos and Hippos apparently cannot swim either.

I wouldn't be too picky on that. I mean, the octopus villagers can ask for one and frog villagers can ask for frogs during requests. Just give rhinos and hippos inner tubes to get around that.

I've always wanted to swim in the rivers and the idea of swimming into a cave behind the waterfall would be really cool! If we are able to swim in both in the ocean and river, maybe there could be a difference in critters for both the ocean and river? Just a thought.

Hippos are actually excellent swimmers. Rhinos can also swim. Not sure where you got your sources for that.

I would found it funny when you would be able to swim behind the waterfall and find a cave, which turns
out to be the home of Pascal. Otherwise, I don't really need the option to swim through the river. Villagers
being able to swim sounds like a cool idea, I remember that in the Animal Crossing movie, the villagers of
the town also spend time on the beach, including playing in the water. So maybe something like this?

The only I think I know about hippos is that there is a African proverb that says that hippos can't swim.
Besides, they can dive about 5 minutes under water until they have to emerge again.

It would be cool if you could sign up for a "coral reef tour" where you dive under the water and actually get to explore the ocean bottom/get specific items or fish
