What if you could build aquariums in this game to host various fish species?

I am an aquarist and I have had this 145 liter aquarium for 3 months now that hosts 30 fishes in an enviroment designed to emulate the tropical rainforest rivers of South america.

This is why it would be amazing if you could build aquariums or ponds that can be used either indoors or outdoors and to do maintenance like feeding and water changes just like in real life and if it would happen in real time that would be even more cool.

What do you think of this idea and how would you like it to be implemented? , even if it is not in the base game but as a free update later on.

I would looove something like this!! Maybe you could first create the tank/pond, then after placing them down you could access them to 'store fish' which would then appear in the tank/pond?

As a fellow aquarist, I’d be SO INTO THIS

If we could design the museum aquariums to emulate each species natural environment, that’s probably all I’d spend my time doing

I would love this! Personally, I don't have fish, but I've been thinking about getting them the past few years.

Honestly, though, even if we don't, I'm excited to see what new fish we get. I've already seen a betta.

I worked in an aquarium years ago, and I know that each fish requires a certain amount of space, quite a bit actually, to be properly cared for.

My old boss had literally dozens of fish crammed in to tanks. :(

Whatever you do, even though it's just a game, make sure the fish has room to freely move around, though the tanks in AC tend to cram the fish in so it can't even turn around.

That's quite a cool hobby/interest you have there!! Seems like more of a hobby tbh, its' really neat! What is it like taking care of all those fish and aquatic animals? Is it hard? How long does it take you to clean the tanks?

Sorry if this is off-topic, feel free to post on my visitor message board to answer.

It depends if it's freshwater, tropical or marine.

I could never do a marine tank. They need marine cultures, and rock salt to balance the PH levels, and back in the day, it took 27 days to prepare a marine tank.

I gave up and stuck to breeding axolotl's. :)
They're freshwater and don't require heating like tropical fish.

Fish safe (or the like) needs to be added to the water for freshwater fish before they can be put in it.
Also a good pump for filtration, charcoal is great. Some aquarium gravel and air stones, reeds and ornaments. :)

Doesn't it take 2-4 weeks either way from cycling, or is that additionally? And I mean, depending on the parameters of your tap water, you might have to do more than just add dechlorinator to prepare your water, anyway. When I was trying to help my mom set up her tank, her options were pretty limited without getting anything to soften their tap water.

I started a marine tank many years ago. I was preparing it for seahorses actually!

It was about a 27 day process the first time, I gave up on day 23 after they told me that each tank cleaning was a similar process to the starter tank, and that I would need to leave the seahorses at an aquarium until the tank was once again marine friendly.

It might be easier today with new products, but I preferred freshwater tanks anyway, and I love axolotl. :)

that's such a cool idea, i wish and hope for it to be in the game!! although sadly i think that we will only have several fish in one tank in the museum... i could be wrong though

I'd love something like this to be added to the game. I love looking at huge aquariums. I'd like decorate mine differently and have at least one aquarium that's space themed. I don't think it'll happen, but why not dream?

If they added something like that I would probably have some very large species like arapaima or arowana which would probably happen in animal crossing but not irl.

i would love having a small fish tank with a couple of fish, super cute

I would love this! I would also love it if they added a couple more aquarium fishes that we see in the hobby ( bettas, Molly, pea puffers, angels , etc). Also maybe give the gold fishes bigger tanks.

It?s nice that they have guppies though! Just most of the fishes that we catch aren?t really aquarium common fish.

I would love that soooo much! I've had fish tanks my whole life even now my family has about 5 tanks ranging from 20 gallons to 55 gallons, if i could have that in the game too i think that would be super cute and fun!:)

Once I get more space and money I will probably get myself an even bigger tank

to be honest, i don?t know much about fish or about taking care of them as it?s never really been an interest of mine - i don?t even really display them in animal crossing, either, besides from the occasional impulsive decision to place a shark in my house as i like the way they look lmao.

however, i do think that the aspect of being able to create our own aquarium and even take care of fish could be pretty cool - they could be like a pet or a fishy companion lol

i find the fact that you're an aquarist eminently captivating. <3
it would be a dream come true to have an aquarium in the game, especially displayed outdoors. Particularly with those fish that glow in the dark and have vibrant colours, i think that it would look stunning.
