My personal favorite custom catchphrases are woof for some of the dogs (I think I've set it for Goldie and maybe another dog?), cloudy for Skye, and new to today, darling for Ankha. I try to choose catchphrases that wouldn't sound completely terrible if they spread around!

I have a lot that I liked and I can't remember them all. I think my favorite was, "neck time" given to Peewee. It was actually a typo and was supposed to be next time. Then when I mentioned it to @/dizzy bone, she said to keep it as the typo. So now it's very confusing but also intimidating because is it a threat, is it typo, what does it mean? I think it fits my island well.

Then when it spread to other villagers, it made you look over your shoulder constantly.

All my peppy villagers get "sunshine!"...for everything, even our secret nicknames. Dunno why but it cracks me up when they're all yelling Sunshine! all the time... peppy in the extreme I guess...

I honestly don't really bother with the catchphrases in New Horizons. They spread too easily and what fits one villager often doesn't fit the others. For example, I gave Klaus the catchphrase "et tu?" because of his Ancient Roman design and the "Et tu, Brute?" line from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Suffice it to say, it got around to other villagers and I hated it. Currently, Bella's gotten a number of the villagers saying eek now, which is much more preferable since it's more generally applicable, even though it's basically just her default catchphrase except without the s at the end.

I have more fun with the greetings, myself, since they just stick to the individual villager. I always like to have robot villagers with the greeting "Analyzing...". My favorite of these at the moment is Tucker's "Jurassican for a butt kickin'." Wrong time period for a woolly mammoth, but who cares, I don't.

I gave "Milkshakes" to Tipper, "Honeybun" to Sylvana, "Spooky" to Lucky, I gave someone "Korok" but I don't remember who, Petri has it now tho! There are some villagers I don't ever let have custom catchphrases, namely Coco and Ruby bc "Doyoing" and "L'il ears" are too stinkin cute

I make all of my villagers say woof woof. I have eight dogs and two wolves. It makes perfect sense. Maybe not for the wolves, but it doesn’t really bother me.

I made phoebe's back when I still had her 'I'm reburn'

not sure about favorite, but it's one I really liked, regardless

oh, and 'flamin' go' (flora) for another I've enjoyed

I have Ed on my island and he is always coming up for a chat and always coming over to my house so I made him say Hay....

You get it? He is a horse... Hay instead of Hey...
I know I am lame but I find it funny haha

I gave Filbert the catchphrase "I think", which works great for his lazy personality. Dobie, being a cranky grandpa, says "my girl".
