We have all been through some rough times during the past year. I personally haven’t been able to see my grandparents and my partner lost his job due to Covid.
However, there has been some good things no matter how small. For example, lockdown has made me feel closer to my family, I’ve taken up some new hobbies. Of course nothing too big in the grand scheme of things but in attempt to shine some positivity and light on these dark times, what has been your favourite memory, or something good that has happened in the past year?

Honestly, I don’t have many great memories during the pandemic. A LOT of negative things have happened in my life during the pandemic including the loss of friends, the death of my mother, the inability to get a good job, and a myriad of other things. I will say, however, that I’m glad I was able to graduate from university and meet the person I like. I never thought either of those two things would ever happen for me, so I’m glad they did.

my favourite part was definately getting to play age of calamity, that game was absolutely incredible 💕
i get that this is a pretty basic thing to be so happy about but i just loved this game so much and i literally didn't do anything else in the past year other than play games 😅

like i didn't spend much with my family since they were working and my brother is glued to his ps4 so nobody can talk to him
then my aunt managed to once again ruin something for me but because of social distancing and stuff she had to ruin my life from her house it's cool i'm over it
then i also couldn't celebrate raksha bandhan, which was a bummer

but i still had a decent year, i like staying indoors watching tv and playing games all day
plus my sister is allowed to visit and she comes every weekend so it was an ok year

I think just seeing certain things continue in spite of everything. Some of the live performances from musicians have been really interesting. A specific one that comes to mind, is the Fenway Park show that Dropkick Murphys did in May. It was just surreal to see them on the infield like that...and it's something that will probably never be done again. Also, I'm a wrestling fan, and it's been fun to see some of the different venues that have been used to do socially distanced outdoor shows. I've seen everything from backlots and barns to boardwalks and public parks. If nothing else, the pandemic has provided an interesting change in scenery for some of these ticketed shows.

I've not got much in terms of happy memories during the pandemic.. the negatives were outweighing the positives I would say, but overall it was mostly just mega boring. So if these answers sound like lame favourites it's because the bar was pretty low lol

-Camping this summer with my mom and sister, the pandemic gave us more time to arrange this and make it happen. It's nice to see them and I know it also makes my mom really happy.

-I spent 2 weeks pet sitting for my sister this summer which gave me some quality time with animals that I usually never get. I was able to do this because I wasn't working (due to the store I work at being closed at that time..)

-Playing Animal Crossing. Yep that's a favourite because I have spent a lot of time playing these past several months and it's been a welcome distraction from general pandemic stress.

-Finding this place 🥰 tbt is such a wholesome community (I'm really sappy I know)

Making new friends and revisiting old games and TV shows I hadn't played/watched in years. I would have been bored the entire time if I hadn't started rewatching iCarly lol
Also, at this point I hadn't practiced piano in a couple years because I was sure drawing was 'my thing'. But I actually sat down at the piano and I didn't realize how much happiness it brought me, as well as picking up guitar. I've had so much fun getting back into piano and starting a whole new instrument.

Playing animal crossing was a blast too, it just always seems to get boring after a couple days of grinding for me. (i also rarely got the chance to play with friends and be stupid with them, so ;v; )

i guess listening to music and getting into an artist that I never thought I would get into, also binge listening their whole album

probably when me and my boyfriend both got new horizons the day it came out and got to experience it for the first time together, me being a long-time fan and him being a first-timer. it was so much fun and this game means so much to me now

Two week period between September and October of last year. That time of the year, every year, is when the São Paulo International Film Festival takes place and it's always the highlight of the year. Hundreds of smaller movies from all around the world, from new directors to award winners, to choose from, and I always try my best to watch at least one a day. It's magical. But since last year there were to movie theaters working, I thought there'd be no festival. But they organized it online and I liked it even more haha

Eh, only thing that have changed for me is having to wear a mask in the grocery stores.
My workplace have remained unaffected, and I’ve shopped online exclusively for the past decade anyways.

Overall I don't have many great memories during the pandemic, think it's mostly been an awful time for everyone, but there have been a few good times, small things that I would've taken for granted before all of this:

  • seeing my grandparents between the lockdowns - usually I'd see my grandparents many times throughout a year, sometimes staying with them for a few nights or they'd come and visit us but with so many lockdowns and not been able to socialise we have barely seen one another but between lockdowns 1 and 2 they did make it over to us for a day and between lockdowns 2 and 3 my parents and I visited them. They were both only short visits and we didn't really do much other then spend time indoors catching up and playing a few games but it was so lovely to be able to see them, they're moving house in a few months to live around the corner from us and I can't wait as I miss them terribly
  • getting to go out for a lunch and a dinner - throughout a year I usually go for quite a lot of meals out or evenings out with friends which I've hardly got to do during the pandemic but during the few times restaurants have been open I got to go to my favourite local country pub with my parents, oldest brother and his girlfriend to celebrate my brothers birthday which was lovely, especially as my brother and his girlfriend had recently moved out so was nice getting to catch up, and I went out for dinner with friends to celebrate my birthday which was really enjoyable and a great treat getting to actually see people
  • going for walks with my sister - another family member I've hardly got to see due to living separately but it's been really nice when I've got to catch up with her between lockdowns and during them when I could meet up outside with one other person we have met for some walks along the beach, we've always been really close and as a nurse she's had to deal with a lot of stress during this time so it was always lovely getting to see her for a talk and fresh air
  • playing games - it's been a really long time since I've really gotten into enjoying games as I'm often to busy with work and social things but with having to isolate for a long time I've spent a lot of time on my Switch, mainly playing NH which has really helped get me through the time but I've also played quite a bit of Pokemon and Mario Kart during the early months of the pandemic while my brother still lived at home, we haven't played many games together since we were young so this was really fun and a good laugh

Most highlights for me were at the beginning of the pandemic, before I actually knew how bad it was going to be. The first quarter of 2020 was the most enjoyable for me and it kind of spiralled since then lol.

my favourite memories are:
  • the release of ACNH - it aligned perfectly with lockdown and the end of college so I was able to spend many hours playing the game!
  • Long walks - something we’ve not really done is explore local nature so it was nice to see some hidden treasures.
  • Online pub quizzes! There was a period of time where every week we would do a virtual pub quiz with our family and it was so fun!
  • Zoom calls - my family live a few hours away from me so it’s been nice being able to do zoom calls with them especially for birthdays or special occasions.
  • Cooking more! I went pescatarian at the beginning of 2020 and was able to experiment with different recipes, something I didn’t have much time for before. I’ve developed my cooking/baking skills a lot throughout the pandemic and it’s one of the things I’m most proud of!

honestly, i don’t have many happy memories from during the past year; from my mental health going up and down to my mother being incredibly sick, the pandemic hasn’t been the most sexiest time for me aha. however, i do still have some memories that i cherish, the main ones being;

• new horizons’ release day! i still remember how excited i was,, it felt like my copy couldn’t come quick enough and i was pretty much bouncing off the walls until i could play. :’P

• hanging out with @Midoriya and @Dunquixote!! in the past, i tried my best to avoid hanging out with people, both in-game and irl due to how anxious it made me but i’m really glad that i’m slowly stepping out of my comfort zone. they’re both lovely people and i’m glad that i got to hang out with them. 💚

• participating in tbt events.

• my 19th birthday! it was only a few weeks ago but it was honestly the nicest birthday that i’ve had in a few years aha,, still can’t believe that i can legally drink now. >_<

2020 was not my best year...but some fun things still happened!
  • The 2k tbt giveaway hosted by @BiggestFanofACCF
  • Finally saving up enough and getting NH
  • Hanging out with @Kirbyz in MK8D and NH

This is a strange amd difficult topic to answer but even though theres a few things we can remeber as a great memory
Heres a list of some of my favourite memories:
1- the release of animal crossing. Always have been a fan of the series, since tbe gamecube era and during this whole process of isolation and pandemic tbis game has beem a social relief amd joy
2- the start of my internship as a medstudent. Ecerything changed for better and everyday seems like im almost close to my personall goals and achoevments
3- the consolidation of my relationship witj my gf. We are even stringer and my best memories of my entire life was by her side and 2020 was a big part of it

The last few months have been pretty rough, with my mental health deteriorating but my pandemic time has been decent.

Most recent humorous and memorable times goes to @Pyoopi @NefariousKing @Mick and my friend @Totoroki . Been having a blast hanging out with them in AC and on discord and being silly. They all have a great sense of humor and have been so patient with me 🥺🙏.

Also want to mention @Xeleron @Parkasaur who I’ve gotten to know within the last couple months. They’ve been extremely supportive of me and so fun to talk to and collect pokemon and husbandos/waifus with. So glad to have met them and @Totoroki.

Shout outs go to @xara @KittenNoir @TheSillyPuppy @WaileaNoRei @LittleMissPanda @oak
I have been spending less time here and haven’t been chatting with them the whole pandemic or playing ac as much. Still, I haven’t forgotten their kindness or the kindness others I’ve befriended here and the fun we had earlier during the pandemic in AC and on the forums. 💜 I’m so grateful they are so patient with me and understanding about me not playing the game much or coming on much as well as some other stuff. Just wanted to give a shout out to let them know I’m always thinking of them and our memories even though I haven’t been posting.

  • My S/O introducing to the wonderful world of video games. Gaming is probably one of the best hobbies to take up during this time. I have many fond memories of playing SSBU with my S/O and his classmates between study/work sessions in the student lounge at school before the school was shut down.
  • Graduating from university and getting to attend the Iron Ring Ceremony.
  • Discovering TBT and participating in everyday discussions and the TBT Fair. There are so many wholesome, kind, and generous folks on these forums, and it's always a joy to see folks helping each other out, especially during these uncertain and turbulent times.
  • Discovering Dr. K and his YouTube channel. The man is doing great work in educating people on the Internet about mental health. I've learned a lot more about myself and which aspects of life really matter to me through watching the interviews he has with Twitch streamers and YouTubers, seeing certain aspects of myself in them, and using those moments for self-reflection.

I have a few things I'm happy about.

1. Social distance, yeah I said it. I loved every second of not having to see people for a while or at all depending on who.

2. I kept my job and had a paid week off of work every other week during the height of the pandemic where I live/work. We worked a week then were off a paid week and we did that for MONTHS. Glorious.

3. I've rekindled a lot of passion for true crime and documentaries.

4. Animal Crossing

5. Me and my partner though we don’t live close we’ve talked every day and have grown closer.

6. I saved a lot of money not doing things i was doing.
