Hello everyone. I’m getting ready to start a new island, and while I have my name picked out already, I was really curious to see what everyone else has named their islands as well as why.

As for me, my first island is named Necluda after the region in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I just like the way it sounds and it reminds of the word “secluded” which is a good way to describe a deserted island.

My new island that I am getting ready to start is going to be called Laverre, named after the town in the Pokémon series. Laverre City is a city build underneath a giant tree, so kind of nature-like and I just love the way it sounds.

ooh the necluda region is my favourite part of the botw map 💖
akkala is a close second though 💫

my island is called croissant because i was eating lunch when i made it and i happened to be eating my favourite lunch food, which is croissants

My island is named spring.
It makes it funny when they talk about seasons "there's nothing like spring in spring"

A part of me wishes I chose a different name but over all im very happy with my island so that's not a rabbit hole I want to go down.

My other island on my second switch is called autumn because obviously

My island is called Bayside. I am very predictable and have named my island Bayside since City Folk 😊 The initia reason was that I was thinking about a name and wanted something to do with my dream of living beside the sea. At the time Neighbours was popular so I did think of summer bay but then took the bay bit and thought of being beside the sea. Put the two together and I have lived in Bayside ever since 🙈😊

My island is called Stornway, I named it after the main hub city of Dragon Quest 9, where you can create your custom party members, craft items, weapons and armor, and (formerly) connect online to play with others! It was the brightest and best town in the game I think, and I spent soooo many hours in that town!

Rainbow

Because its based on my story. My character is the main antagonist, and ruler of the rainbow kingdom (All kingdoms are based on colors) even though the area is called Sabrila, I named it Rainbow, because the whole land is later reviled to be his whole kingdom.

My island name is "Traverse"

Based on the first world of Kingdom Hearts 1 called "Traverse Town". I love the music in that place and Kingdom Hearts is my favorite game of all time. So I choose that name for my island because it fit so well.

my island's name is Cacti because the cactus is my favorite plant

My island's name is Inkwell.

It's a reference to the setting of the game Cuphead, the Inkwell Isles. One of my top favorite games in recent years, plus I originally did want to name the island after an antique item. I'm still very happy with the name I chose, so it all worked out. ^^

Mannn, Cuphead is so hard!! Super fun though! I like the idea behind choosing your island name!

My island is named Flolagio, I hadn't planned ahead for what I was going to name it so when it came up on the game I needed to come up with something quickly and as it was an island that reminded me of holidays I made it a mix of two favourites places I'd visited - Florida and Bellagio

I have two islands, my main one is named Woxton, after my son, whose nickname is Wox. My new one is named L'eclatant, which means "the dazzeling" or "the brilliant".

I have two islands. My first island is named Serenity. My island is my place of peace I go to at the end of a long day. My second island is Jurai named after a show I used to watch.

My new island is called Elderidge, just cause I think it's a neat name lol

my first one was called Adelwood

I've two islands. One is called Vylbrand and the other is called Swanstone.

Vylbrand I picked out months before the game came out and I still love it. It's a reference to an island in the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online.

For Swanstone I wanted a regal sounding name. I was originally going to go with Schwanstein (named for Schloss Neuschwanstein in Bavaria) but it was a character too long. Luckily I realised that it sounded more elegant in English in addition to being within the character limit.

I named my island Wits’ End. Wanted to name my NL town that but couldn’t due to the character limit.

I think it’s fitting for what started as a deserted island. How far we’ve come.
