I named mine Isla Cerys - I wanted to call it Isla Cerise at first, since my native fruits are cherries, but that was one letter too long so I changed it to Cerys. It's grown on me, and a little more unique than just the French word for cherries, I suppose.

I named my island Calypso. I wasn't sure where I heard that name before, until I was working one day and saw a bunch of drinks with the brand name Calypso. They have a picture of an island on them! And then I came across the KK Song Calypso and I laughed. So it doesn't seem very original, given that there's KK Calypso, but I still didn't want to start over.

My island's name is Coral Cay. It stems from a tropical themed New Leaf town I had and now and since we're on an island I figured it was very fitting. Very tropical and jungly. I would have loved Coral Calypso but the freakin character limit.

My island's name is Vasisland, a combination of Vasilevski (starting goalie for the Tampa Bay Lightning) and island. I questioned whether or not I should've picked a different name early on when I started the game, but at this point the name has grown on me and I can't really see myself having a different island name.
Think of it this way, KK liked your island so much he wrote a song about it.

My island is called Warmwood. I like cottage core and forest core and the feeling of a welcoming and warm island so I put the two ideas together and it kinda made sense to me. After one year I still feel like the name is very fitting and I love it

My island is named Medfield! It is the fictional town in a bunch of old live-action Disney movies. A lot of the movies take place in "Medfield College" and my town tune is their school song!

My island name is Yarn Isle because I wanted a pun for my island name and it related to crochet as my hobby. I looked up to see if you could pick a suffix for your island name but sadly you cannot pick one in the English localization like you can with the Japanese one. Luckily Yarn Isle is short enough that it fits.
my island’s name is axolotl! there’s not really any meaning behind it other than the fact that i fell in love with it after finding it in an “island name ideas” thread but since dr. shrunk is one of my favourite npcs and i think axolotls are adorable, i thought it’d be a nice name to go with and almost a year later, i’m still in love with it. 
It's TeeheeTiki. In ACNL, my town was called HeeHee, so it's sorta derived off that. I used to watch this small korean flash cartoon where these three animals lived in a forest called Hahahoho Forest. Laughter can be upbeat and positive but also unsettling in the specific situation.

My island is named UA Academy, loosely based on UA High School from the popular shounen anime My Hero Academia. Would have just put UA High School, but there still weren’t enough characters for that, and I didn’t want to name it just UA High .
