• Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.

What keeps you playing?

Completing the art wing of the museum is probably my biggest reason to continue atm. I was two pieces away from doing it in New Leaf before quitting years ago, now I’m trying to finish both museums and am curious which ends up winning!

But I also want to complete all Nook Miles achievements at least on my main character, and get all the bug/fish models. That alone should get me an extra year or so of play. And collect + craft all DIYs.

The main thing that keeps me playing daily is that I'm trying to complete everything in the game (catalog, museum, achievements, etc.), which without TTing means it takes awhile to complete. So even though I've completed like 90-95% of that stuff, I can't rest until I achieve 100% of what I set out to accomplish. At minimum I'll be playing until September of this year due to the Salmon DIYs (though I think I'll still need some fish/bug models made at that point), though it's more likely I just keep playing daily until the third year anniversary even if I complete everything before then, since that'll be a nice point to stop playing daily at. Of course, by then maybe I'll decide to revamp my island or go after specific villagers, who knows!

- Still need to get all the nook miles achievements
- Need 1 more sea creature and 4 more pieces of art for the museum(wanna do this all by myself)
- I wanna get all the fish and bugs models in the game all by myself and actually catch the critters to make them
- Still collecting photos a lot more to go
- Wanna get all the DIYs/Cooking recipes
- Still working on figuring out my dream house interior layout
- Still brainstorming ideas for my island since I wanna do multiple aesthetics and I need to figure out how to do them together without making it look weird
- I'm still cataloging all the re-buyable items in the game
- Still more stuff to do in HHP
Since I never time travel and collecting the photos will take the longest out of all of these, this will keep me playing for at least another year
I'm hoping I never run out of fun on this game, New Horizons is my favorite video game and I'm really not sure what I would be doing if I didn't have it.

I just restarted last month so a bit of everything: collecting, decorating, and most importantly, my villagers. Took me a week and a half just to get the right layout I wanted, and weeks more of campsite traveling to get my perfect set of kitties. With luck this will be my final and I hope, best island.

Also my cousin's stepdaughter got the game for Christmas and now I have someone to play the game locally with when I visit him. I let her visit my island and it was lots of fun not having to worry about internet crashing and just opening up my island to a visitor.

Just because its AC. I am severely disapointed with NH but the update made it alot better. I have no intention of getting all the nook miles unlike badges because nook miles are just a horrible grind. The catalog to me has no more purpose as I can easily trade online and I can get literally every item from wardell. People ruined the fun for me of hitting rocks and getting gold nuggets because I used to love the surprise but It doesnt feel special since everyone just gets them from treasure island. I have enough of every fruit, vegetable and material so that if we went into hiding for a billion years I would still be rich in food. My villagers have all been my favorites and top friendship and everything is done! My town has been done since august and I am just not feeling creative enough to use the new items. Group stretching is a fun way to get a tiny bit of extra physical activity every day! But nothing really, I just feel complete but I might go back and start CF/LGTTC again sometime as I cannot just play NL and WW everyday! NH is A FANTASTIC GAME THOUGH DONT COME FOR ME

The fact that every title i have played helps me escape real life as i can mould the perfect life i want in my town/island, it may sound sad but after not enjoying my childhood at all. Animal Crossing has helped and still does today.

I'm hoping to collect everything, I have a LONG way to go because I only recently started trading with people, for the first year I only played by myself.

I want to craft all the DIY items

I also want my island to look nice, I feel like it will never look as nice as other people's but I'd like to get it to a point where it looks pretty decent, right now it's a mess

My villagers are fun to talk too. And I have only decorated like 5 homes in HHP so far so I still have a long way to go with that

Oh and I haven't completed my bug, fish, or art collections for the museum. I finished the fossils a long time ago. I don't time travel so it takes me awhile to do things.

Gyroids because they're amusing to watch dancing to the different K.K. Slider songs

I'd also like to get a few more villager photos, maybe one from every one of my villagers.

I want to get a 5 star island too, right now I have 3 stars

I love decorating. I have 8 characters because I love decorating rooms. The new update has kept me really busy. I have 8 characters going to hhp, because I want them all to have the ability to use walls and pillars, polishing furniture, and sound scapes. I like all the rooms I've decorated, but many of them have been getting small makeovers. I'm loving the new furniture and accent walls. My villagers homes look so much better now too. I'm also loving the app that Lottie gives you, where you can design rooms anywhere, anytime.

When I want a break from decorating, I visit random dreams. Dream visiting has been better since the update. Players are getting more creative designing their towns and homes.

I’m just happy to visit my island friends for a while.

Just to sit back and enjoy my little slice of island americana.

Just the fact that it's Animal Crossing. It's my all-time favourite game regardless of which version I'm playing. I don't care if acnh is lacking in some areas. I don't care if it's not 'perfect'. I don't even think there is such a thing as a perfect game anyways. I just enjoy sitting down in front of my TV and playing. People are so focused on the negatives, but no one ever focuses on the positives. There are so many things that make acnh enjoyable.

The amount of creativity this game gives you is awesome. I can make my island exactly how I want it. Get bored of it? I can reset.
Ever since the update, I have found myself playing for longer hours than before as well. The DLC keeps me happy for hours. There are over 400 villagers to make homes for. Easy entertainment.

I just got the concert in hhp(I took my time and didn't rush through it). I am still designing hhp homes(some better than others) and I'm still tweaking my facilities. I'm pretty happy with the cafe, school and hospital but the restaurant needs work(this will be my 4th remodel of it, i just cant get it right). And even though I just made the apparel shop I already have changes to make. On my home island I do daily tasks like cleaning up branches and weeds, digging up fossils, talking to villagers, shopping and getting nook miles. My museum is long done and now I've got all the rewards and nook miles from brewster, stretching and kappn tours and just finished collecting all the cooking diys(also want to collect all the new normal diys, I have all the pre 2.0 ones already). I have been changing my island decor for the various holidays and will soon be changing things again(may also change the layout some as well) and I'm redecorating some of the rooms in my house. I have 2 spare characters who I need to upgrade to houses cause they are still in tents lol. So I have lots to do and won't run out for a long time.

I feel like what keeps me playing is the fact that I play other games also, lol. IDK how that works but it does. if ACNH was the only game I ever played I would get bored so quickly, but I think it's a really good game for playing 1-3 hours each day then continuing on with the rest of your day. Thats what I like most about it!

The social aspect. If I'm going to be honest, I don't get a lot of joy out of playing animal crossing anymore. I just want to hang

I don't actually play daily anymore, but I do check for a campsite visitor every day.

Still hoping Kiki or Lolly show up in my campsite. I have 9 permanent villagers so it's the only way I can find them.

For me, it's decorating/designing. It's the most fun part of any Animal Crossing game. Unfortunately NH seems to require so many more steps to get to that stage but the HHP DLC has made it so fun. My favorite part of this game is being able to decorate my villagers houses. I don't think I'll ever get bored of coming up with new ideas for houses/rooms.

I keep playing this game because I like it and I can't figure out how to play any other games. Plus I like the visual quality of the game. I have Stardew Valley and it sounds kind of neat but I hate the art. And I have a couple other games that were recommended for ACNH fans like Cozy something and this one fantasy game (I can't remember the names). I tried them but just didn't like them much and couldn't figure them out. I'd eventually like to try Luigi's Mansion but I haven't had the patience to look up walk throughs and guides. I do have it though, and I like the art and idea of it.

I tried Breath of the Wild and loved the art and story but wasn't smart enough to solve any of the puzzles. So sad! I know there are guides out there to help but ACNH is easy and fun and I'm too tired for BOTW.

I've completed my museum. I have a 5 star island that is precisely how I want it to look. My house and storage is fully expanded and paid for. I have plenty of igb. I might not have all the items cataloged but the items I'm interested in, I already have.
What keeps me going is being able to help my friends who arent as far along in the game, with strategy, igb, or items they want.
