What makes you cringe the most?

People who berate others make me cringe. The world is not kind, but you can be!

Yeah especially when they do it on topics they seem superior on, but they fail to see the whole picture.

Yes! This exactly! It’s wonderful to have opinions but try not to make a fool out of yourself!

Indeed! I mean unless someone's an actual troll or just play on their one side just to win(which then you ignore the former and ask the latter why they act like that) there are always room for other perspectives. Most topics are a cube rather than a flat square.

god same - i still have embarrassing stuff from like,, years ago haunting me lmao

Hearing people insult and demean their children.

I want to run over, hug the kid, and tear their parent a new one, but I have no right to so I just cringe majorly amd bite my tongue.

My inability to communicate in a social situation, stuttering over my words included.

variations of "I don't get (common recreation or extremely broad interest)" because i always feel bad someone feels like they have to intentionally present themselves as the most boring and unpleasant person ever and repel everyone on Earth with their unwarranted nagging

When people make fun of art in a harmful way. Critique is an important tool and should be practiced with both giving and receiving. Rude, useless critique like "eww lmao" or those kinds of remarks in general are unacceptable, even if the critic perceives it that way. It isn't useful critique that the artist will want to listen to, unless you give something they can improve on. People think ripping on artists will just "give them a thicker skin" but there are kinder ways to go about critique rather than making someone feel bad for their art. This kind of dives into bullying as well so just that thing in general gives me cringe.

People who always act entitled and seem to think they are the peak of the human species. If you need to constantly remind everyone how great you are, you probably aren't all that great.

Yes, thank you. And those people rarely see the whole perspective, nor do they 'allow' people to ask questions or get questioned which is like.. the whole point of learning and understanding others.

Hm, interesting, can I ask why you'd feel this with common stuff? I find it more annoying to explain special or obscure interest since it's broad people more often know about why or why not someone might dislike it. Tbf I think I'd be more explaining than someone with a general interest.

People bringing irrelevant attacks in argues, like if we're discussing X you you don't attack the person if they consider themselves something like Y thing?

Also say if I was a farmer who was forced to keep wheat growing even though I knew it was bad to do because it can give people issues, you should attack the food industry and people basically eating wheat stuff instead of someone forced to it for reasons and the least the person doing it to even survive.

And when people use wrong areas in general to tide things, like if you can't understand the other I don't really see a point.

And to agree with Marshal further about entitlement, I've head and seen a lot of views when discussing literature (mind you I'm taking this at uni so it's kinda educated or well-versed people I discuss with) while they for some reason pretend not to understand your concrete point a lot of time, or when they are trying to ask one they are like "uhhh" so you look like a fool... Alright then whatever. Also that if you have an opinion outside the common canon pool people seem to be a lot of not understanding or just ranting so you should admit you are wrong like.. that's the point discussing literature so see different things.

YEAH. It’s so heartbreaking to see a kid already in crisis mode be yelled at by their parent.. like.. I feel like they do it because they are worried about making a scene and making other people uncomfortable but it far more upsetting to see a parent berate a crying child than to just hear the child cry.

I’ll admit, if I see an argument going nowhere and the other party fails to even try to see my side or be open, I’ll hit them with “this is why you smell”. Lmao

@sierra, it's mostly when you argue on something and they bring in irrelevant arguments or views that didn't have to do with the original point mainly, but yeah I've done that also.

I cringe that my signature just got dress coded by staff.
