What musician/band do you think is underrated?

Pretty much almost any Japanese group I listen to. I wish Japanese music was more popular in the US.

Yeah same tbh, although most of the Japanese music I listen to are kinda obscure 60s-70s bands and artists so yeah unless you are like heavy into reading music blogs they are pretty much hidden.

And yeah I wish like every old Portuguese music I listen to would be more popular here lol... :|

Mutyumu have amazing pieces of music but I've never heard anyone mention them anywhere before my friend introduced their second album to me.

Susumu Hirasawa too but he has generally received more attention.

Simon curtis for sure, he's started getting a lot more popularity lately but only with like AMV makers;;; his music is really honestly amazing but he needs more recgonition.

Also Neffex! I discovered them recently because of my brother but honestly I am so obsessed, they are like legit ear heaven ORZ

I've been really into Sweeping Exits lately, they are a band that is inspired by the 70s glam rock music, and they have put out some really good songs.

I also like SuperKnova, she puts out some really dreamy rock and pop tracks that I've been super into.

definitely King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard, an australian neo-psychedelic rock band that has such a great, unique and always-changing sound and they're able to keep on dropping one amazing album after another (they dropped 5 last year alone) while still staying fresh and making every album sound unique, with experimentation in things from microtonal sounds to a seemlessly-looping album to a all-acoustic album, they manage to be one of my favorite bands of right now, and while it's definitely not for everyone, it's worth checking out if it sounds interesting
