What Political Party are you in?

I'm a Moderate, but I slightly lean toward Republican on the political spectrum. Both of my parents and my brother are very right-minded, but I'm not them, am I?

Or just stop contributing the the flood of political threads that are all basically rehashes of each other.

Except this one isn't, this isn't a Trump/Hillary thread nor is it a who are you voting for thread.

Its a thread to see what people stand for and why they are in a certain political group because of how relevant politics is right now due to the election. (Obviously)

You don't need to contribute to this thread or any other political thread, ignore them. I'm sorry that you don't like these types of threads, but I don't think anybody will stop making these threads until/after the election.

Another thing, I agree with everything you say against Trump.
I won't make another political thread after this one either, its something that just peaked my curiosity.

Just ignore him. You can talk about what you want as long as it's appropriate. Religion and politics are controversial, but not a forbidden subject here (especially if you ask what party each fall under with no argument). Plus, whoever you're arguing with is a pretty rude person in general. I would try to avoid arguing with rude people and ignore what they say.

I'm registered as a Democrat. Even though the Democrat party is far from perfect, they're the only party with sense that has any standing in this country. With that said, I'm not sure I'd go for the third parties even if they could win, because their candidates are pretty bad this time, too. Just saying.

This is like picking what gang to join, they both have different beliefs and whenever they cross paths, hell breaks loose and an all out battle begins on which side is better.

Politics are just a relevant topic right now. The threads about it (most of which aren't rehashes) provide interesting discussion for once. If you really don't like them, like Whiteflamingo said, just ignore them and don't contribute to them. They'll be gone in about a month.

I'm a republican, I like some of the democrats, if Bernie sanders was the democratic nominee, he would have my parents vote, but I have to go for trump, hillary is awful, same reason my parents went for trump, to stop hillary

this is brewster's cafe, not politics' cafe :(
please stop making political threads that are all the same :(

In the state I live in, there is no official party registration. I prefer to identify as a liberal over a Democrat because saying you're a liberal shows what your values are while saying you're a Democrat just shows that you have a kind of tribal loyalty to a group of people. I don't like a lot of the stuff the Democratic Party does, but I'm nonetheless involved with them because that's the only way to change the political parties. A lot of stuff that political parties do is dictated by what happens at the grassroots level and not by what major donors want, contrary to popular opinion. The reason political parties go bad is when people don't participate either because they are lazy or they think it's cool to be unaffiliated, but the truth is that the only way to drive meaningful change is to be part of a collective effort and political parties are designed to be a vehicle for that collective effort.

but basically i'd say i'm a bit left wing (swedish standards, guess it's more left wing american standards.) and also liberal.

yeah, even some of our right wing parties would be considered lefties by american standards. lol

I've been voting for the green party the last elections but has been pretty disappointed with them of late. I'm probably gonna switch to the left part who would be considered borderline commies by american standards (they actually did call themselves communists not too long ago).
Either way, I identify as a leftie and a socialist.
