Hello all you talented people of the art world!

I want to try making my own avatar and would love to know what programs you guys use (yes, I've thought about commissioning but I have a really specific way I want to draw it) to create such cute signatures/avatars!

I do my digital drawings on my ipad on sketchbook and ibis paint x (ibis paint x is better than sketchbook)

Noted. If Ibis paint is what your avatar was done on it might be my best bet lol :)

I use firealpaca. It's free, I find it's easier to use than sai too, even if similar. I like the watercolour tool ^^

I have tried firealpaca before on Windows 10! I had to quit using it because my stylus didn't seem to work properly in the program. Have you ever had this issue?

Yep Im in early development of digital art so its pretty good (my avatar) considering how bad I am at art also a lot of people love paint tool sai if that helps

Yes, when using discord. Discords overlay seems to mess with pressure sensitivity in the app, but clicking into discord and then back out to fire alpaca a second time fixes this. Otherwise it may be your tablet that has the problem.

To the iPad users, I recommend using Procreate, which is what I've been using to create my iPad drawings both professionally and for fun. My friend also recently told me about MediBang, which is another iPad drawing program and uploading platform (that I have yet to test out fully), mainly for anime artists and cartoonists, but the control panel is closer to something like Photoshop and sai. There's more info here: https://medibang.com

I use paint tool sai (which i downloaded free from here lol) but I used to use firealpaca. I prefer sai but it's still pretty good. I also used to have issues with my pen using it though. Sometimes the pen pressure would stop and I'd have to switch it off then go back on for it to work and sometimes it would go like really slow. but that might just have been my tablet

pen + paper for lineart, clip studio paint for clean up and colours

I really enjoy firealpaca, the tools are simple to understand for me and I like how it works.

Photoshop is my best friend! I've been using it for over a decade so I feel very comfortable with it. I also downloaded a program called lazy nezumi that works with it and allows me to draw way smoother lines than I would get without it.
